@jh1003 blood angels and super brutal in close combat but can be sofend up before the assult by shooting,on account of them usu haveing low numbers. space wolves CAN be super cheesy buy for the way i play them thay anr relly good at holding objectives ,have a codex full of good chioces and becouse of people who dont know how to counter there "tricks" are considered to be the best army out there. if your looking to be competitive eather army is a good chioce.

I have played some people like what you have described this guy to be and when you realise in the end that those kind of people need to cheat to win, then it really isn't worth arguing anyways. As you said, the best way to get back at them is to watch them like a hawk every game thereafter to let them know you are aware of their underhanded tactics and make them feel ill.

page 14 in the space wolf codex clearly states that "space wolfs are fearless fighters and are furious in the charge, therefor, when the apposing player isnt looking, space wolfs have the ability to move up to 12", also when taking any form of leadership test you are ablagated to fudge the test. Space wolfs are so fearsome in the assualt that they may assualt 8" away, and knockdown the assualted models in and attempt to get a few extra inches."

If some one does this again get plastic glue and melt the faces of all the modles and then cut off the arms and put gloss varnish on it so they cant stick together. then blu-tack the arms all backwards on the wrong modles. then grab some baby oil and spray it on the stuff so it becomes resistant to all kinds of water based paint. then fill his tanks with PVA glue. then super the exterior of his tanks and throw saw dust.

If it was me I would have come back to the table accused him straight out of moving the modles too far, if he accepts - get him kicked out, if he denies tank him on sportsmanship and tellhim hes a wanker. (Just put poly cement on all his modles faces)

I love LRs but they are pretty much the opposite of what my list is built to do. It just wouldnt fit with how I play, and other armies are better at the game that the LR does fit with. However, I am working on a fun BA list that will have a LR Crusader. That will hopefully be done by the fall. :)

Ops for some reason I thought you said he used ragnar blackmane nor logan grimmnar. Either way logan has no special abbility to prevent being run off the table(which of course is the biggest fall back to SM's I actually ran a dev squad off a table with a land raider only having a storm bolter left)
or well maybe he was thinking about Blackmanes rule "Headstrong" which if he's within 6" or an enemy unit he has to charge it, but the rule only applys if he is alowed to assault in the first place. Don't think you can assault while falling back.
I play the wolves myself, the rule he was tlking about was "They shall know no fear" which is just like every other marine rule "The group automatically regroups wether or not they are below 50% such that so and so conditions are met" and being 6 inches within an enemy unit confers and he'd have to fall back. And the whole inches shaving thing is so juivinal to have to cheat at a game meant for fun.
Right, he should have kept falling back. That would have sealed my major victory. They FAQd the wolves rules to show that. He did not have the FAQ and used some quirky wording to argue his way out of it, and I didn't fight it though I knew I was right. He knew the old codex well, and knew right where to turn to find that quirky wording to save himself. It was very convenient that he did not have the FAQ.
"They shall know no fear" means marines automatically regroup and are not required to take a Regroup Test, therefore enemy models within 6" would not apply.
@jawaballs hate to say it but he's not a true wolves player. I do look for loop-holes as do all players, but I also make sure to check the FAQ Erratas because though I like Loop-holes I hate cheating. For Example: with Jaws of the World Wolf it states draw a line for 24" but it does not specify how thick it should be, thus GW ruled that you should use the side of your measuring tape, however my tape is an industrial one, thus almost an inch thick if you turn it on it's side. unfair
@ragnargrimnar so thus I'm going to cut a 24" string and use that to actually be more fair to tthe opponent, seeing as the power is nasty against anything with a low initiative already. If I played that dude, i woulda ripped him apart squad by squad using my nasty Wolf Guard against his troops, while also keeping my troops in cover with a dread right next to each squad for a swift response in close combat, basically bring on his HQ's cause they wouldn't even scratch my
thus I'm using a 24" cut of string. I personally think you shoulda ran less tanks and more assault troops and charged his ass, so he gets his 2 attacks per model you'd get like 3-4 and probably outnumber him. In the end he has disgraced the wolves and would thus be slain or exiled.
@jawaballs he also worded the hq per points wrong, it states he MUST take 1 hq per every 750 points, yeah it makes for a hard hitting army, but it also makes it easier to kill off. He should just give away his wolves and go play another less honorable army -.-

You are right about being stupid. I made a couple of mistakes. Being overly tolerant and overly trusting are on the top of the list. I should have called over a judge the minute he started being an idiot. I knew I was right, I knew he was wrong. But I always try to do good and give people the benefit of the doubt.

Man that sucks! Too bad you didn't get that on camera. I always use my camera especially with the cheaty people. They seem less willing to cheat when I am recording the match. I always wait for my turn to leave the table. With most players this is never an issue and I even allow them to move my models in consolidations and pile in moves. I trust people for the most part, but there is always the jerk here or there.

Yeah man you got robbed. That is terrible. I think I would not have let that ruling slide, and I would question every measurement with that guy next time you play. He looked scandalous from the start.
On a side note, at least you have that awesome game store to play in. Where I live there is one store that has games once a week. It is usually only about 10-12 guys, the same ones every week. :P

Beyond all the cheating that has been mentioned, I also wonder,he said he has 3 HQ (one for each 750 points). I thought you were playing 1750? If so there is no way he could legally get 3 HQ. Second, your blog said he fielded Logan. Logan can only be fielded in games of 2000 or more.

Lol yah, I did have a little Servitor who carried my codex! If I ever have a kid I am going to shave his head and duck tape a paper mache metal arm to his shoulder and make him follow me around at Gamesday.
In the gaming club we have a penalty for cheaters, one model is chosen by the opponent of the cheater and put on display in a locked case, not to be returned until there is a game in which he doesn't cheat.
It works and so far we've only had 5 models in the case at most, they usually get returned pretty quickly.
The first thing that came to my mind when I first saw this guy was that he is an totaly unsecure individual with extremly low self estime( you can tell by his body language, the tone of his voice, use of language and eyes.
The typicall kind of w40k player that one dont want to play against.

I have no proof on the movement while I was away, only my memory and estimation. But playing an assault army for two years, I am pretty good at estimating what 12" is. By my estimation, he was OVER 12" away before he moved. I wish I was making more vids at the time... :(
I dont care about my guys being hit. If I was worried about heir paint jobs, I wouldnt play with them. The issue is that be fore we could get a clearly defined measurement on a crucial assault, he moved his models, my models, and the tape... after that there was no way to question.

I see that now, claimed by the death company. It does seem super close to 6" range so being pushed back any amount over 6" should push him out of range. I would think he was trying to push your guys over to either get you put them were they might be closer to him or maybe just out of spite but still un called for.
That objective was not in question. The rules of the mission stated that the squad had to be deployed and in base to base with the objective. He killed Dante and won that objective. It didnt matter though. Every thing was Kosher up until just after the END of this video. Check my blog for the rest.
Oh wow, just read you blog post about this game. I can't believe he would do something like that, especially in a tournament setting. I'm sure he got frustrated after you got both of the objectives and then he started to bend the rules. You definitely should have won that game, I am disgusted at this guy's behavior. in the end it's just a game that you should be playing for fun, but behavior like this should not be taken lightly.
He also does a lot of talking, when it suits him, (Might help him with an early ending game) but when he was trying to hurry to get through the turns... he was all business and rushing me into poor decisions.

Ops for some reason I thought you said he used ragnar blackmane nor logan grimmnar. Either way logan has no special abbility to prevent being run off the table(which of course is the biggest fall back to SM's I actually ran a dev squad off a table with a land raider only having a storm bolter left)

or well maybe he was thinking about Blackmanes rule "Headstrong" which if he's within 6" or an enemy unit he has to charge it, but the rule only applys if he is alowed to assault in the first place. Don't think you can assault while falling back.

I play the wolves myself, the rule he was tlking about was "They shall know no fear" which is just like every other marine rule "The group automatically regroups wether or not they are below 50% such that so and so conditions are met" and being 6 inches within an enemy unit confers and he'd have to fall back. And the whole inches shaving thing is so juivinal to have to cheat at a game meant for fun.

Right, he should have kept falling back. That would have sealed my major victory. They FAQd the wolves rules to show that. He did not have the FAQ and used some quirky wording to argue his way out of it, and I didn't fight it though I knew I was right. He knew the old codex well, and knew right where to turn to find that quirky wording to save himself. It was very convenient that he did not have the FAQ.

"They shall know no fear" means marines automatically regroup and are not required to take a Regroup Test, therefore enemy models within 6" would not apply.

Marines cannot regroup if their is a enemy unit within 6". So they keep running, standard techniek of running them from the board.

I stand corrected. "They Shall No No Fear" only gives immunity to the less than 50% in unit... not Enemy within 6"

@jawaballs hate to say it but he's not a true wolves player. I do look for loop-holes as do all players, but I also make sure to check the FAQ Erratas because though I like Loop-holes I hate cheating. For Example: with Jaws of the World Wolf it states draw a line for 24" but it does not specify how thick it should be, thus GW ruled that you should use the side of your measuring tape, however my tape is an industrial one, thus almost an inch thick if you turn it on it's side. unfair

If I played that dude, i woulda ripped him apart squad by squad using my nasty Wolf Guard against his troops, while also keeping my troops in cover with a dread right next to each squad for a swift response in close combat, basically bring on his HQ's cause they wouldn't even scratch my

thus I'm using a 24" cut of string. I personally think you shoulda ran less tanks and more assault troops and charged his ass, so he gets his 2 attacks per model you'd get like 3-4 and probably outnumber him. In the end he has disgraced the wolves and would thus be slain or exiled.

You are right about being stupid. I made a couple of mistakes. Being overly tolerant and overly trusting are on the top of the list. I should have called over a judge the minute he started being an idiot. I knew I was right, I knew he was wrong. But I always try to do good and give people the benefit of the doubt.

Man that sucks! Too bad you didn't get that on camera. I always use my camera especially with the cheaty people. They seem less willing to cheat when I am recording the match. I always wait for my turn to leave the table. With most players this is never an issue and I even allow them to move my models in consolidations and pile in moves. I trust people for the most part, but there is always the jerk here or there.

Yeah man you got robbed. That is terrible. I think I would not have let that ruling slide, and I would question every measurement with that guy next time you play. He looked scandalous from the start.
On a side note, at least you have that awesome game store to play in. Where I live there is one store that has games once a week. It is usually only about 10-12 guys, the same ones every week. :P

Well I watched the vid and read the blog post, and yeah people like this are a bane to the Warhammer community.
Beyond all the cheating that has been mentioned, I also wonder,he said he has 3 HQ (one for each 750 points). I thought you were playing 1750? If so there is no way he could legally get 3 HQ. Second, your blog said he fielded Logan. Logan can only be fielded in games of 2000 or more.
Is seems like this guy was out to cheat his way to victory from the very beginning.

In the gaming club we have a penalty for cheaters, one model is chosen by the opponent of the cheater and put on display in a locked case, not to be returned until there is a game in which he doesn't cheat.
It works and so far we've only had 5 models in the case at most, they usually get returned pretty quickly.

I have no proof on the movement while I was away, only my memory and estimation. But playing an assault army for two years, I am pretty good at estimating what 12" is. By my estimation, he was OVER 12" away before he moved. I wish I was making more vids at the time... :(

I see that now, claimed by the death company. It does seem super close to 6" range so being pushed back any amount over 6" should push him out of range. I would think he was trying to push your guys over to either get you put them were they might be closer to him or maybe just out of spite but still un called for.

That objective was not in question. The rules of the mission stated that the squad had to be deployed and in base to base with the objective. He killed Dante and won that objective. It didnt matter though. Every thing was Kosher up until just after the END of this video. Check my blog for the rest.

Oh wow, just read you blog post about this game. I can't believe he would do something like that, especially in a tournament setting. I'm sure he got frustrated after you got both of the objectives and then he started to bend the rules. You definitely should have won that game, I am disgusted at this guy's behavior. in the end it's just a game that you should be playing for fun, but behavior like this should not be taken lightly.
