got one of these in earlier this year. even more fun that it looks. handling beyond awesome even by todays standards. engine needs to be revved to impress as every turbodiesel 1.8 pushes out more torque nowadays. that said, it is a gem with creamy straight6-rasp, refinement and good push beyond 4k.
impressive build and material quality. a leather expert I consulted to understand how to take care of the rather posh looking leather told me only maybach are using that type of leather these days.
Love the doors, headlights, and those bucket seats!!! This is before the 90's too I wish BMW still made cars like that today... instead of crap designs that only people in California think are cool-
@typeerk the shape is always a matter of taste, it cant be dated, the technic can be dated but who cares, this car has everything to drive and the most important thing about the Z1 its because its cool, the doors and only 8000 pieces beeing build! this is super rare and a used one is 30.000Euro and will go higher. This will turn more heads then SLK, Audi TT, or whatever and u have an investment for the future while Audi TT will suck and loose money every year.
Right and wrong!!, not sold all over the world. The US did not officially receive Z1's and the same for asia however I think Japan received only 3 Z1's officially. The Z1 was mainly a european seller with Germany being it's biggest market followed by Italy then France etc.
hmm didn't they bring them to the USA? I found 2 with only a 2 minute search in the Toronto area, I do not think they were sold in Canada but not the US. You should be able to find them.

@efriccero
naw not in either of the meanings-
Yeah I know it's a dated design, but just think what a modern day version of this car could be like-
and yes I think most cars today are sh!t designs with just a lot of features and gimmicks to distract you BMW included.

khinti 2 years ago
Well here in Germany, the BMW Z1 is set on a price from 18.000 € up to 45.000 €.
18'000.00 EUR = 26'967.60 USD
45'000.00 EUR = 67'422.15 USD
If you live in America, you have to calculate the transport as well.

After a quick search I found they were not sold here at all, but I did find 2 in Toronto so you should be able to find them somewhere in the US.
