Congrats to your excellent job and outstanding truck. I I guess the original engine was a 273 cid LA. I don't know if the A100 ever had the option of a poly 318 (earlier than 1966). The basic engine apparently was the /6 225.
Excellent job on the A100! I remember them in that same green color, can you tell me what the name of the color is or perhaps the color code? It would be of great assistance as I'm building a 1/24 scale replica.
How did you get the engine out. You'd have to put the engine hoist through the passenger side door and unbolt it from the tranny, because you can't get to the engine from the front. Wow. Labour of love right here.^_^ Headaches a mighty.
I owned a '65 A100...what a blast...225 slant 6 727 Torqueflyte tranny...on the dash shifter. Not much for top end but tons of torque. I do miss it alot. Nice video...good presentation.
I used to have a grey-and-white 1965 Dodge A100 Custom Sportsman passenger van, back when I lived in Phoenix. I bought it for $500 in June of 2000. It was rust-free but had over 400K and everything on it was worn out. First thing I did was pay $1200 plus labor for a remanufactured 225. Over the next couple years I spent over $5000 more on repairs, only to give it away to a salvage yard in April 2005. It needed a new exhaust system, had been sitting for a year, and I was broke & unemployed. LOL!
