@ReptileOwen7 I have a leo, and I feed him prekilled crickets and grasshoppers, so you don't have to feed yours live ones. Also, why not just live mealies (I also feed that)?
Leopard geckos are not the same as cested geckos. Cresteds don't need crickets, grasshoppers or mealworms. They only need crested gecko diet (CGD), wich is a powder for crested geckos that you just need to stir with water. It has everything they need. Feeding insects isn't that good for them and they will grow too fast with that. As for your leo... Why dead insects? They love to hunt. If you don't want to touch live insects, feed them with a glove or a pincet :)
Thanks, you are right they dont need them but i do to offer a variety to my crestie along with fruits. Also, I was really talking about leopard geckos. And my mom wont let me feed live crickets or grasshoppers, only mealies
Yes, you can feed CGD without feeding crickets. CGD contains everything they need in the right proportion. You can feed about 4 or 5 crickets per week, but that is more to keep their hunting instinct and to give them some 'exercise'. I sometimes feed them crickets because it is said that they grow a little bit faster if you offer them live food now and then. So mainly feed them CGD and give crickets when you feel like or so, but not too much. 4 or 5 a week as I said ;)
Yeah, it's a nice pinstripe ^^ But it doesn't have a lateral stripe. Almost, but there are some open spaces between the portholes, so it's not a lateral stripe. Thanks for the comment ;)
So that makes my gecko a full pinstriped harlequin with a partial lateral stripe, some dalmatian spots, some minuscule red dots, white knee caps and white fringes on the hind legs :D Yey for Shay!
By the way, I am almost sure that it is a male. And my other is definately a female, so I am really curious alreay what offspring they'll produce :P But that's future music.
It will take some more time before I can breed them. They are only 15 grams now, so... I'm afraid it'll take another year. I'll see. And yeah, of course I will post a video of that! ;)
Crested Gecko Diet (CGD). It is a powder specially made for this kind of gecko and contains everything they need. Just mix it with a bit water and ready to serve. No extra insects needed, but you can still give them as a trait or to keep their hunting instinct.

@kms6play mealworms arent nearly as fast and they cant really escape , thanks for reply
ReptileOwen7 8 months ago
@kms6play I read about mealworms and it says they cant digest their hard shell properly :)
ReptileOwen7 7 months ago
@ReptileOwen7 Actually the chitin in them makes them somewhat hard to digest, feed them to adults and depending on your gecko the results might vary.

@Nadja4be Its definitely a partial lateral striped though, which is more than most pinstripes ;) All the best mate :)

Well yeah, ok, a partial lateral it is then ^^

@Nadja4be When they are both ready for breeding and you manage to hatch off a few offspring, post a video! Would be great to see what hatches out.
All the best, good luck!
