We bought a brand new house and the contractors painted our entire house yellow. Same color you showed in the beginning of the video. I personally don't care for the color but I'm going to leave our bedroom alone. I personally like variation but if you like yellow I'd def say you did a good job complimenting the colors.

Kim you have a lovely home and I love the yellow. My house looks like a dump compared to yours. We can't throw anything away it seems and we always have bills and receipts and everything you can think of laying around. I am going to start clearing out this place when spring comes. You should see the front table the hubs still has it covered in tax papers now going on a month. We have clutter t oo but it drives me nuts and always a struggle to get rid of it.

Yeah, painting open floor plans are not the easiest. My friend said it doesn't matter if you just end one and start up with the other, but I think it would be a bit too garish. As a result, I haven't ever painted and all my walls are white. But at some point I am going to. When, I'm not sure. Nice job with the painting :)
There are methods to use to transiton with different colors too. I just preferred to go in the same color different hues for that open area. I still yet to paint my office though which I mentioned eons ago. Up and down on ladder is yea not so fun for me. Hubs said he would pick the paint up I want for the office but yea hasn't. Proably need to do it myself but sometimes he wants to be "the man" and gather the goods lol.
Hi Kim, the yellow throughout looks great. Originally, all of the rooms in my house were the same color. When I painted the house several years ago, we went with bold colors and gave each room a different identity. Who knows what we'll decide to do next time -- maybe this spring. Ray

I have no sense for decorating. I even took a class one time on it and the only think I learned was how to group things on a table.. I have since forgotten that technique! LOL I'm hopeless! haha Your color scheme is beautiful. I love yellow and love the texture you did.
@mysteryglo Well everything I see in your home looks lovely to me. I adore decorating and have poured over decorating magazine for years. My brothers & SIL home is beyond a show home she is very talented and not on a tight budget like me. Plus they are professional faux painters. I just throw together things I find cheap or are given and work with that lol.
I love how you decorate and how the colors flow from one room to the next. I did my husband's office in yellow, it looked nice in the can but when it was on the wall it looked horrible. I guess it is all about how the lighting hits the room. You have a very pretty house. Love the bathroom.
@justwant2bhappy I had that happen in our master bath. I wanted it a deep rich brown since our comforter is a rich brown but it looks more like poop lol. I am still going to work with it and put a tinted glaze over it.
@oopspaw Thanks Katie I love home tours. Some of the furniture was bought at auctions etc. Everything was acquired cheaply and over our almost 30 years together. I ve been wanting to do some budget decorating videos but haven't ;).

WoW..First of all Yellow is one of my favorite colors! You did a fantastic job! So gorgeous! I have always wanted to try the ragging technique but so scared I would goof it up. The bathroom is also very gorgeous, I wish I had your talent;)
@TheChattagirl I just literraly balled up a rag dipped it in paint and rubbed the walls. I did it over flat paint which is a huge no no because the rag wouldn't slide but once started I just kept doing it because I didn't want to start over lol. I love decorating and always wished I had went to school for it.
Yea in the side bar I listed two other videos displaying the true color better for both rooms. That changes though time of day light exposure. I need to pm you too I am having difficult time concentrating so give me a kick in the butt lol.
