@88MERCENARY Cops will usually face this way when warning drivers of a traffic jam ahead since they must continually move further back when traffic continues to pile up. It's much easier to move forward into oncoming traffic than it is to back into it. In this case, the officer probably wouldn't have seen the approaching semi if they were facing the other direction.
