Yes it is like the Yidaki technique with the horn but the breathing drives it all. The breathing is very intense. I am breathing on just about every horn.
The first time I played this riff was in a mates (Mike Edwards' from Axis) kitchen in Coogee, Sydney in about 1999. It grew out of the baseline for 'Ruach' from the Axis cd. Was an experimental period of using the horn note as a type of drum beat in different rhythm patterns. Seemed like a natural progression for a rhythmical instrument.

how do you breath in the horn note ?
Is it a yidaki technique with a hard tongue like a "dup" or a bounce with your belly ?
thanks for sharing
