these and crimson talon are all I use, I was 2/5 for my buck season last year...
The first one that missed was my fault as I designed the arrow to spin a bit more by tweaking the fletching which caused the arrow to loose all its fletching and simply fly sideways.
The other two were my fault due to missing the target (:o)
The other two were amazing, they only ran 40 yards then dropped.
These broadheads are the best! The cutting on contact equals to a perfect triangle about 1" per blade thus leaving a gaping hole for the blood to spill out! They will live up to the motto, "Watch'em Drop"! And they make replacement parts for each piece so you don't need to purchase the whole broadhead each time. Tried and true, they fly almost exactly like your field points so really you need not waste time practicing with them. Trust me folks, these things are deadly although pricey! Muzzy who?
lol.....I actually thought the same thing when he was playing with those blades but then I realized that the ends he was pushing on are flat and not sharpened. If the very end that pushes the blades open were sharp they would possibly 'cut' rather than 'push' and they wouldn't open. Anyway, the point is that they're not like fixed blade broadheads where everyplace you touch is sharp and it's easy to get nicked.....in fact, it's easy to get cut wide open, I know PERSONALLY...lol
Looks like there is even less cutting surface area on this mechanical than on a standard cut on contact, so this has all the disadvantages of a mechanical and none of the benefits whatsoever!
this style broadhead has been around for 15 years or more. but this broadhead is truely unique! only prob with these is they are usually a one shot broadhead. missing your quarry will result in $ from your wallet. Unlike traditional single piece broadheads. I'd say this is for tree stand hunters- yes?
cool stuff but why couldnt you just shoot it with the blades already open
TheeMcDonger 9 months ago
@TheeMcDonger you could, but with fast bows the wider the blades the less accuracy you will have. They will also not hit as hard
tundralover1 9 months ago
@tundralover1 oh i see, so then these would be more accurate than a fixed blade broadhead?
TheeMcDonger 8 months ago
so I am assuming these are much easier to pull out of a target as well more than fixed broadheads?

more parts means more room for broadheads to fail and many mechanical broadheads have a rep for blades breaking

I love these broadheads...most accurate and sharpest iv ever shot
