Encyclopedia Galactica is an episode of Cosmos, the documentary by Carl Sagan, I love Douglas Adams! And the movie wasn't so bad! I mean the book was infinitely much much much better, so much that it boggles the mind.

I thought the novel was based on the BBC radio series. Isn't this the same script?

Other way round.Adams wrote the novel first,then it went to radio,then tv....................then years later a dreadful film was made.The guide thankfully omits the film! So long and thanks for all the fish.
