  • i've always assumed this was supposed to be played at 45?... o_O

maybe i've been playing it at the wrong speed lol

  • There was a band version of the Innerzone Orchestra that included a former drummer for Sun Ra - I saw them twice in SF - they were excellent. They put out one album

  • That beat, those horns. MASSIVE

  • @jayshiz what horns, man? theres no horns in there.. although there should have been. great track but well i sort of expected a little more after i read this was like the breakthrough in electronics plus live impro... anyway, its good but theres sort of like something missing. am i wrong?

  • Love it. But mind you this is a sort of low frequency test for your sound system. On mine very hard to hear the last couple of bass notes... That's why, bug in the bass bin. I do not have a bass bin :-)

  • The dirtbombs just did a cover on this for Party Store. A covers album of obscure Detroit Techno music. Their cover sounds nothing like this... just curious what the fans think of the remake.

    see soundcloud

  • @ Fuck the Dirtbombs. You can't cover Strings of Life.

  • this still is the sound of the future

  • love the tune

but i think it was first released in '92 on Planet E.

    cheers!

  • Baz De Conga

  • Anybody gunna put this track up at 45? You know it makes sense!

  • @droppenkiken

Check my channel for a pitched-up version.

  • @droppenkiken holy fuck, just tried it and it's dope. cheers for heads up!

  • So repetitive and boring.

  • repetitve to a fault

  • Don't want to sound like a little shit, but I think this played at 45 is much better

  • Nice

  • Roots

  • Anyone who is looking for the first D&B records should check the " The Jungle ep" by DJ Phantasy (91) and LTJ Bukm "Logical Progression" on VTR records (I think) which has been suggested to have been recorded in (89)

  • @BetarennaLondon in fareness your forgetting the Scientist "the Bee" and Shut up and dance and loads of others breakbeat outfits, the jungle ep was out in a time when i was definitely calling the music Breakbeat quickly followed by hardcore, id say the first "DnB" records were tail end of 95, if you went into a record shop and asked for DnB in 91 they wouldn't have a clue what you we're talking about.

  • @BetarennaLondon this is most likely the first "jungle like" - Meat Beat Manifesto - Radio Babylon

  • Fabio and Grooverider would play this at 45 in 92, it sounds better and is regarded as one of the first moves into the DnB sound

  • To DarkShroom,

This track is not Drum N Bass more a Jazz'd-up-CC detroit flavour. However, its probably been sampled.

  • @BetarennaLondon and there's a Peshay Remix. Goldie has expressed how influential this record was to him.

  • Definitive Carl Craig track!

  • Hi, whilst this artwork was released in 1996, the track was originally released in 1992.

  • Timeless.

  • Carl Craig - you can't beat him.

  • Man this tune is style.

  • Carl Craig :D

  • digg it

  • f yezH

  • Wicked sound

  • badass

  • Monster of a tune, pump it through a humungo system for maximum damage...

  • Yay !!

  • wow so i'm having a bit of a late night history lesson on DnB.

    It's "that" sound :)

  • outstanding this is a huge tune

  • sick stuff
