Kristen's just amazing. She got even BETTER artistically after her elite career. And I am one of the apparent minority that enjoyed her Olympic FX very much.
lovee kristen but why do they make absolutely no mention to the fact that she used to be an international gymnast, AND competed at the Olympics? and that she used to be one of the best tumblers in the world?
actually maloney ended up with a 39.625 and schwikert ended up with a 39.725 so if maloney did not get the .1 deduction, they would have been tied for ncaa co-national champion.
In prelims, her teammates forgot to move the mat for her dismount. She had to stand on the bar and wait for them to move it. She got a .1 deduction for this and lost to Tasha Schwikert by .05.
She's so amazing. I think what makes the story so sad is that so many of her doctors thought she would never do gymnastics again after her infection and then to come so close to a national title and lose on a technicality is so unfair.
Nice Dismount!

@16Deathwish Yeah, she went to UCLA right after the Olympics. She's currently a coach at the University of New Hampshire.

CBS just showed the highlights of her event final floor. She also did a whip-double pike and triple twist with her full twisting double layout.

What was the mat issue that made her miss out on the AA?
She is seriously an idol gymnast, love watching her perform!

Oh maybe that wasn't quite a technicality but something beyond her control and unfair all the same.
