why can't ppl enjoy something just for its sheer beauty & awesomeness without arguing & calling names every time? The Americas used to be known for condor, too & now they're almost all gone, along with the jaguar. Some day all our descendants will have will be videos on YouTube ....
Back the truck up! IGNORANT INDIANS? Who are the persons who make the Eagle a national symbol then turn around and shoot it out of the sky for your trophy wall? Who are the persons who spread DDT all over crops and nearly wiped the population off the planet had it not been for a Native American biologist? Sometimes, I wish my people let the pilgrims die in 1620. This country would have been better off.
You know what?? That is fuckin disrespectful ! im one of those ignorante indians ! and i take offence to that! This bird is important to us native people alright? I know its wrong to capture it but that shouldnt mean you have to call us ignorante! So please learn some respect! (and i was there and im goin back next year and i cant wait ^.^)
im not saying the animal isn't sacred, of course it is. im saying it's wrong that its being tortured like this..to forced to spread its wings for a crowd of ignorant idians. thats all im saying. the eagle had to look at all those lights! and i love goin to see good dancing. but i hate goin if you know wat i mean. haha ronman79 you need to study AIM or talk to russell means. stop being dumb and look at this poor bird be hurt by this. when they brought him out, i couldn't watch i prayed for him.
ok shure i can agree with you on the eagle being captured and shown like this being wrong. but before it was captured it should have been left alone its natures way. i think the right thing for hurt eagle is to let them die or give the bird a humane death not to bring it into captivety. yeah buddy about that ignorant indians thing you better fucken nock it off or somebody gonna kick your ass
It is apparent that your mind doesn't see the world as a whole. This eagle was abandoned and would have died if it were left on it's own. that goes for the other animals in captivity. They would not survive in the wild because of human activity. These animals have a chance in captivity, at least they are alive and not dead. Maybe one day you'll see why it is seen as sacred during this event, if you don't like dont go any more, simple as that.
it was sad to see that eagle in captive. forced to be entertaining to a bunch of ignorant indians. i felt bad for it, eagles have powerful eyes, how do you think it felt when they took off the blindfold and a bunch of flashing lights hit it. thats not magical, that cruel. open your eyes!
Ignorant huh? Now you know how the People felt when those pale strangers came to rape and destroy what little resources and wild life the Americas had. It was heaven on Earth and now look at it. So much for the "much needed" assimilation by the churches and governments. We see this bird as hope. Unlike the pale skins who killed these birds alomst to extinction for nothing, we as anishinaabeg fought to protect it. Dont think the protection came from the whites, it didnt!!!!
i say ignorant because this bird should not be captured. it shouldnt be shown for our entertainment. when i went to the zoo with my dad we saw the eagles, he stopped and prayed. then he told me, "son, as long as these birds are captured with their wings clipped, as will our people be trapped. with our wings clipped." you get me?
i say ignorant because these indians love to see a sacred bird like that in CAPTURE? whats sacred about that?
If thats Migissiwa. Aww i miss that eagle lol she has a good story on what happen to her when she was a baby and her mother died and other little sister or bro fell out of the tree. But she is such a honour to bring such life to the powwow when i went there she made me feel proud to be a Native. And i'll never forget that.
