These were famous dancers and athletes i their day.. The rooster fighting is now illegal. My grandfather used a shaving strap for his single blade till he died... 1972 Zoftig women and girls were considered beautiful..thin was ugly back then.

That was Edison's official copyright notice. It's in many of the films, and only on one frame here and there. 

FWIW, there is no such thing as subliminal cuts - it doesn't work (after all, you noticed it, didn't you). It's an urban legend.

The Library of Congress is using new technology to transfer paper prints of these vintage titles. Most of the old clips you see elsewhere are actually deteriorating nitrate prints, while the LOC versions are actually paper copies of the original camera negatives.
