@legomn54321 You're correct... In fact, the chopper quit altogether, and I need to take it apart and see what happened. I suspect a bad collector ring brush, etc. Been too busy to mess with it, but I plan to do that soon.
myself, i own the sirens in my town, every year new years, i sound them for how many years, from year 2000, they are a mix of STL-10 and STH-10, and hell, it's loud being in the center of them all, and after they all complete the cycles, the partying begins!
That Model 5 is an early version low-tone, and I think it's running a bit slow due to the brushes not being worn in yet. Plenty of sparks. On the dual tone T-Bolt, it does have new chopper bearings, but I have it set on a low tap. The fault in the attack wail cycle is due to bad timing, which I need to fool around with.
Great video Charles. I think you're right about the brushes in the 5. I put new brushes in my electric impact gun about a month ago which is much smaller than the 5 ,but they arced quite a bit when they were new. They settled in about 2 weeks later.
It's making too much arcing & sparking from the motor. I'm not sure why, because the armature is sharp & clean, and the brushes are in excellent shape. It could be that the brushes aren't broken in yet, as the wear pattern on them is only a small area in the middle.
@kx250rider661 sometimes, when the commutator and brushes are great and their arching , sometimes the brushes have to be warn down a bit (let motor run for a while) and that should do the trick most of the time
it sounds like your 1000T is having bearing issues...it's jumpy on the wind-down from the attack cycles in the same jumpy pattern every time.
