It's funny how everyone hates on SU but don't realize all they bands are doing what SU does...Jackson State took their cadence...South Carolina State marching with their designs everyone doing the bend back like SU does it...my dad was in the band when the drum major did that for the first time......and everyone else just started a few years ago....I got it on tape....SO SU haters are some blind idiots

@Heyshobiz Speaking on SCSU's behalf, no formations or designs SCSU does were created or owned by SU just to be clear. Everything that ANY band does comes from someone and/or somewhere - that would be the band director. Since Mr. Knighten - SU's former director - is now at SCSU, NATURALLY he would conduct HIS philosophy, HIS teaching style, and HIS directing skills with the band he currently works with. All of those things are very much independently of SU.

I've never been a fan of the SWAC or Southern until this year. They definitely displayed a lot more versatility, balance, and cleanliness. Big ups to the Jukebox.

I wasn't saying that to say that Southern has never displayed musicality. My comment was that I wasn't a fan of theirs until this year, and that their musicality had IMPROVED. I'm giving credit where credit is due, SU is the truth. And this is coming from a MEAC band member.
