basically a tie.

kallen had the better mech, but she still couldn't beat him. suzaku was making his "Live" curse work FOR him, not against him, letting it control his defensive movements by instinct (as explained by lelouch when suzaku fought the knight of rounds), freeing him up to focus only on offense when an opening presented itself. but the guren (as well as kallen's skill) never gave him an opening he could exploit. and his "Live" curse was the only thing keeping him in the fight.

how did you imply that it improves his defense movements and not his offensive,  seems that is your opinion and not a fact. code geass never stated that live geass improve suzaku's skill in any manner.

Suzaku seems to think it improves his natural skill in some way. In a different ep. lulu says "You've managed to turn my "live" geass into a strength" or something to that effect, while commenting on suzaku's combat ability.

if winning the battle meant dying, only then it would hurt him. remember suzaku had a death wish, its why he got geass'd in the first place.

also, its "infer", not "imply".

@kristovx7 the curse of the live geass is to make him live. it doesnt improve his pilot skills or his mecha.

the only thing it does it to help him live, giving him the ability to actually concentrate better but that is about it. it didnt improve his intelligence or cognitive abilities like it does in gundam. the geass just helps keep him alive by keeping him concentrated in battle. the live geass was only meant for him to survive but he was able to override it.

i'm basically agreeing with your last comment.

i would argue it removed choices/actions HE KNEW would get him killed. he couldn't sacrifice himself as intended, in ep. 19, because it forced him to save himself at the cost of disobeying orders. he destroyed tokyo with freya (and killed 35 million people) for the same reason, even though using it was anathema to him.

it removed fatal errors from his list of choices. possibly at a subconscious level. this is not trivial in combat.

also i should add, it doesn't give him ESP. it won't save him from a sniper in hiding. it wouldn't tell him what to do. it would say "you know, deep down inside, that if you go left, you might get cacked. so you're not going left. you can go anywhere but left." and he has no choice. and if he doesn't see the sniper barrel pointing to his right, he'll still get cacked. but you have to remember, suzaku is no slouch in combat. he is a master tactician, so his live geass has a lot to work with.

I just gotta say you guys are ignoring the fact that Suzaku was SUPPOSED to lose. Or at least FEIGN death. This is HEAVILY Implied in the last episode, the whole plan was for Suzaku to take Lelouch's place, So he needed to make it look like he died. I think its apparent throughout the whole series that Suzaku is implied to be the better pilot. However in this case, its not really a fight, it's a play that Suzaku has to put on in order to make Lelouch's death look official. Considering he CC

@Tomoki00 I kinda agree b'cuz if Kallen was the better pilot then why have Suzaku and Lelouch team up in the first place? Sure Lelouch didn't want to drag Kallen with him, and he wanted her to live a normal life, but it's strange that the focus is always, "If Lelouch and Suzaku teamed up--they could do anything." The same can't really be said with the Kallen and Lelouch team up. Don't get me wrong, Kallen's still a great pilot, but I wouldn't say that she owns Suzaku in terms of skill.

Suzaku does have his Geass as an added advantage, so without it Kallen is most likely better... but Suzaku can kick her ass hand to hand, so all's even.

Kallen had the more advanced Mecha. so that took out the Live Geass advantage, if it was even an advantage.

the battle was a draw. nothing more. hand to hand, Suzaku will kill Kallen.

this video was put together very well. i loved code geass but the fight scenes werent long enough cuz suzaku and kallen pwn everyone else. it was nice to see one long epic fight even though it was just all the fights combined.=)

the fight was a draw. overall though i consider Suzaku the better pilot Suzaku survived the explosion while Kallen needed help to survive. Both Mechas were stopped and she needed help to survive while Suzaku didnt.

Eh his mecha got competly blown up while Guren was at least somewhat intact. The guy that caught her also said that she won. You cant say either is a better pilot from looking at this fight. Suzaku even said himself that his geass was helping him and his eyes were constantly red at the end of the fight. How do you know how much the geass helped him, perhaps it makes it downright impossible for him to die?

eh? so what that the mecha was intact! what is your point on that one? it is a machine, it was unusable and it was stopped. she could not continue no more.  both machines were disable, one just happen to blow up, the other was cut to pieces and fell to the ocean and destroyed.

The real translation of Gino's comment was he was asking a question if she won or not, he didnt know!

Suzaku Live Geass only keeps him alive, nothing was mention that it gives him a boost.

Live Geass helps him stay alive and probably helps him concentrate better. Nothing in series mention that it gives him a boost in anything. Certainly the Live Geass doesnt make increase his pilot skills or makes his mecha much better, if so then he would of just defeated kallen instead of drawing with her.

and i disagree with you since the curse live geass doesnt enhance his skills, suzaku has to override its ability to stop it from doing things that will keep him alive instead of winning a battle.

there is no evidence that live geass enhances his pilot skills.

@CrimsonHyuga near death, that thing activates when he wants it. he has override the control of it. now he can activate it when he wants in battle. the live geass helps him concentrate better. concentrating doesnt mean better pilot skills, greater intelligence or a better mecha. if that was the case he should of won decisively.
