Back when I played I threw it well over 300 ft.. And I didn't pitch. And not every MLB player long tosses during the season. Some do some don't. Some do a modified version some do a full version. And the single most important thing to a pitcher isn't long tossing it.. Its your JOBES exercises and legs.With out those two you aren't throwing.

Second, longtoss, other than pitching a baseball itself, is the single most important aspect to a pitcher's routine. Anyone that tells you otherwise is an idiot. It does not put a burden on your arm. The handspeed & throwing motion is identical to pitching. It's good for your arm, because you have to accelerate your hand and get it out in front. It's good for any arm.
