Rick's and Richard's upper register voices had certain similarities early-on with The Band, but less so as Richard's voice coarsened over the years. This song is an example of that similarity, and this one happens to feature Richard on lead vocals. Rick would have sung it well.

Wikipedia states that Manuel sang this as well. Also, to the person to thought that Manuel's voice was deeper; it did get deeper as his alcoholism progressed and he was all fucked up on coke and heroin and the like.

Listen to 2:37. Thats defenitely Manuel. No doubt. Danko didn't sing high notes like that. Danko's phrasing was way different. This Manuel all week and twice on sunday.

C'mon! This is definitely Richard Manuel singing! It's clear in his falsetto and Rick has a raspier voice. I have a demo version of this where it is just him on vocals and piano. It's gotta be him!
