Santorum is a Catholic. Only marriages perfomed by the catholic church are valid. Divorce and birth control are not allowed. Any resistance to the pope will get you excommunicated; priests can rape little boys with impunity. All followers of other christian sects and other faiths not catholic are going to hell. Gay marriage means the end of humanity. It says so in the bible and the pope approves this message.
