Great video Ralph and as you say pity about the selfish photographer [there's always one isn't there?] Bet his first name is Dick! Never mind he partially made up for it with his little out of synch bobbing routine at the end! Ha ha. Good work anyway!
@kenbrowne1947 Thanks Ken, the photgrapher at the end must have forgotten as previously I had asked him just to stay where he was as I would be shooting past him, he needn't have ducked down at all.
I'll be riding behind her on the upcoming S&C & east coast mainline run this Sat. Shall see if i can get an on-board vid of the action with my bullet cam & DVR unit.
Thanks guys for your comments. Had that ******* not distracted me, I would have managed a much smoother pull back, that is the part that lets it down...
Well done in the circumstances Ralph. What a toerag. As David said - a good recovery. At least you saw her (which is more than I managed) and what a sight to see. Lovely loco, going great.
Point was I arrived nice and early to get a good position, several others arrived and formed a group. Two who were taking stills said they would take theirs and then move away so I could pan round. He then arrived stood to one side just moving out as she came into view.... Nothing we could do..
Whoever gave this one star should show themselves: A video such as this clearly deserves much much more, and despite the guy who walked into shot, I'd have to say excellent recovery Ralph. She was certainly going well and making a lovely noise and you did well to pan it so well after what had happened.

One of the risks of videoing on a busy station, try a less crowded location next time!

I normally do, and you will see this if you look at the rest of my videos...This was just the one-off where I had no choice of location.

load up Avid for on 30 days trial
spend 2 days learning how to use it
then trim and edit the crap out the way
good luck

No editing is ever going to remove that bloke and retain the Duchess......

Nice 5 star rating, in spite of the person in front of you.

What a total and utter prat, I hope he views these comments. I still enjoyed the vid though, nothing quite like a Duchess at speed throgh a station.

Ralph despite the selfish guy you did a great job capturing the power and speed of the run past in the few seconds you had, most inspiring.

It was still a nice action video despite the photographer.
