This was no more an anti-war song than "This Is The army Mr Jones" (also on Youtube). It was a "let's make lots of money from a song" song based upon an artistic creative thought.... Bolland And Bolland were hardly indentified with pacifist ideology. Indeed Status Quo performed it to the Navy during, I believe, the first Gulf War and received a rousing ovation when they changed the word "army" to "navy." ...... Great song but let us not get carried away by it.
