  • Great song.

  • Enorme.

  • I'd fuck her. ;)

  • censored... boooooooooooooooooooooo

  • It's not dirty, it's lovely, so lovely it makes baby Jesus cry...

  • This song is beautiful but is like walking in nature, getting lost and dying.Nobody ever hears from you again.

  • anyone know where I can find decent chords to this?

  • Achingly beautiful! "Wicker Man" remains a remarkable timeless classic.

  • I love this song! Even without the imagery of Britt Ekland dancing it is terrific!

  • @flinket she doesn't dance. They used another actress against her will for the dance scenes with bare ass.

  • Such a wonderful film - This piece and scene particularly sublime.

  • @abdulakarim007 Are you saying this song is evil?

  • @Zajenforte Hi just making a point didnt mean to offend or compel anyone just conveying truth.

  • i'd of said how do -maybe twice if i wasn't too smashed

  • @griffo1968 I, in turn, have removed the bees comment, which comes across as a cruel taunt :)

  • @griffo1968 Seriously though, I haven't seen the remake and never intend to, it looks awful. I really love the original though. Why's it gotta be a matter of nationalism anyway? I consider it fortunate that UK and US share the same language and can make distinct contributions to one anglophone culture.

  • Wow. Wicker Man debates 40 yrs later!!! Just shut up and enjoy the immense wonder that is Britt Eckland in her prime! Simply STUNNING!!! ps Dont indulge in the "Directors Cut"!!! They've removed Britt's awesome form and replaced it with 2 foamingsnails having sex. Not quite the same thing!!!

  • this movie makes me feel the strangest feeling. the one that you feel at the pit at your stomache, where its like a cross between feeling kinda nervous but also really sad

  • How Do........Sneaker Pimps.

  • i saw the Nick Cage version and had no idea there was an original (much the same way as Cat People and etcetera) but i really had no idea womyn back then could move like that wow... but it is creepy at the end of the vid when she is walking toward camera

  • Maybe if we type just " willow ' we can get to another version. Who knows.

  • Sheesh! I've just seen the uncensored version and even as a gay man, I can tell you it was worth it. So artistic, pure beauty, the whole thing was just so powerful. That's much better that the utter vulgarity you can get in a strip-club.

  • @CorbaneKarel lol actually I heard in an interview they hired a stripper as a body double for the parts involving the dancing against the door and whatnot, and they were a bit dissatisfied because they wanted it to be more sensuous and hers couldn't help but be a bit harsh. still erotic though.

  • This is gorgeous.

  • When violence is less harmful than displaying a nipple, that society is suffering from collective insanity. But they can't recognise this since they are born in to a system that define reality that way. Like the Village in the wicker man.

  • @Curiousonic It's always fun to read when someone thinks his view on reality is right and everyone else's is wrong.

  • @ArnyBoy You must be very amused reading your own comment then.

  • @Curiousonic Nope. My comment isn't saying that your view is wrong. What my comment is saying is that it's stupid to believe that society is wrong because they don't follow your belief. If you had said that you believe sex shouldn't be as censored as violence, that is one thing, but saying that society is wrong because they have different standards than you is insulting and dumb.

  • @ArnyBoy Why is violence (watching people being shot to death) more accepted than seeing a nipple? Explain the logic if you can. I am open to change my opinion.

  • @Curiousonic Don't worry, I don't want you to change your opinion, in fact I SHARE your opinion. The only dumb thing about your post is thinking that society is insane because they disagree with you. We are NO ONE to tell parents or society in general what to consider acceptable and what not. If you want to raise your kids seeing nipples, but not violent scenes, that's fine, but don't be as arrogant as to think that your way of seeing reality must be the same for everyone else.

  • @ArnyBoy If we lived by your standards i.e. not change what our parents teach us, we would still live in caves and display nipples naturally to our children without harming them. You call me and all those who have considered the world unacceptable and changed it arrogant, yet you don’t see how well that word actually describe yourself. As for the word insanity, we will all be insane until the unchangeable truth is revealed.

  • @Curiousonic I'm not saying we should not change what our parents teach us, all I'm saying is that you are an absolute moron and an arrogant asshole to even suggest that we should live by YOUR standards. You are a BIG piece of shit to think that everyone else should think and live like you. Read what you are saying, you are not an altruist concerned with humanity's well-being, you are a jerk who wants to impose his values on others.

  • @ArnyBoy Yawn.

  • @Curiousonic Thank you for accepting that you just can't win this discussion.

  • @Curiousonic What you want is people to live by YOUR standards. I'm not imposing any point of view here, all I'm saying is that you shouldn't impose yours. People are and should be able to change what they learned from they parents, but you are NO ONE to tell people what is it that they should change or not if they are not being disrespectful or harmful towards others. Simple.

  • My Neighbor does same shit when she's horny, slaps an hits everything....

  • @linknightmare Yeah. She's a cock-teaser. But...who doesn't love a cock-teaser? :-D

  • @vacuous3

You can get it on the Wicker Man soundtrack. But you'll have to pay for it like you should rather than steal it. Downloading copyrighted music is illegal and is worse than rape and murder. You've seen the adverts. You wouldn't steal a car... You wouldn't shoot a baby... etc.

  • @jamiewindsor

hahaha, made me laugh, i's ironic that you only get that advert on legally obtained films

  • @jamiewindsor

This movie is almost forty years old. It and its music should really have been in the public domain for a quarter century now. If the greedheads in the entertainment industry had their way, nothing would enter the public domain until it is dug from the ground by an archaeologist.

  • @baikenatedwaffle I agree, i think copyright on everything should expire after 10 years. right now its at 100 years or something absurd. so, we can play mozarts symphonies without fear of prosecution, but anything since 1900, OOOH YOUR AN EVIL EVIL COPYRIGHT INFRINGER GO TO JAIL.

  • @stopthesoftkill As the holder of several copyrights, I can say that 10 years is WAY too soon for a copyright to expire. 30 years - maybe. Or something like 20 years with a six month grace period within which the holder of said copyright must file for renewal before it either reverts to a secondary (named) party, or becomes public domain (if no secondary party is named in the original copyright). But I agree that the current law is excessive.

  • @mootbooxle Isn't it like 75 years after the death of the copyright holder?

  • @Rhythmicons close - it's 70 years - and it can be extended either by the copyright holder (if they are still alive...) or by a named successor in a will (or next of kin if no will exists) for another 67 years. So suffice it to say that if it was copyrighted in your lifetime (or since 1/1/1978), you'll probably never have to worry about it expiring. That's a long time!

  • I love this song!

  • good lord, no nipples allowed!!! gatling guns and hellfire missiles welcome however!

  • Any of u pervs wanna catch a glimpse of Ekland's tits u can just check her out if u type in The Wickerman part 7 on here (as I sense a lil frustration in the comments below haha). Man wat an enchanting song though, never known a film to have such awesome sound tracks :D

  • THis is a lovely song, and if you like the WIcker Man, you might like The Moon Shines Bright, a short, folky, ghost story set on Dartmoor. Type it into the search box and see.

  • @mikelheron20. Your so right!

  • I think it servers her right not showing her breast. Ekland sucks

  • Fuck's sake youtube, what is this, Cambodia?

  • why can't we see Britt's tits in this clip?

  • How in the nine Hells could he not be seduced?

  • She wasn't exactly trying to seduce him, she was testing his chastity and his basic goodness USING seduction.

    *****SPOILER*****

Trying his faith, was a way to insure they had a sacrifice that was acceptable. It also offered another chance for the victim to escape his fate. So in the end. his righteousness is confirmed by this testing, making him a acceptable sacrifice.

  • I didn't understand this scene too much...she was trying to seduce him or something right? But why?

  • If I take my clothes off I see a penis, wow, big deal, some can do the same, the other half, well you get the point. However, if I tune in to youtube I can see people getting their heads cut off and being hit by cars, planes crashes and deformed babies. Sex worse than violence? The land of the free (USA) dictating it's corrupt religious values across the world. Pathetic, shallow and ignorant. Thankfully I live in Europe where we're not so ashamed of the body but more offended by violence.

  • These scenes were shot in my old house in Whithorn. We were in the process of moving house and British Lion hired our house. Brit is in my old bedroom (what a claim to fame, hee hee) and Edward was in my mum's bedroom. As a 14yr old boy, I was not allowed in to the filming, but I did watch my bedroom being converted for the shoot. Of course, being a movie, the two bedrooms were not connected, they were at opposite ends of the house.

  • i would have failed that test the moment i walked in to that pub :(

  • @daconsultants I would too. Oak was too hot to trot.

  • 0:51

    It's Fedor Emelianenko.

  • LOL

  • Love this song and I think this is the best version, followed by the Divine Comedy's.

I love how Edward Woodward hobbles around the room at about 2:40, as if he does have an unruly erection he's trying to ignore.

  • They used a stunt woman for the parts where you can see her arse, because she didnt feel comfortable doing it.

  • He's a strong man, for resisting....stronger than me....I'd have run in there and plowed that bitch.

  • Thanks for posting, but there is no reason to censor it.

Content just as or more explicit is shown on YouTube.

The censoring ruins the beauty and power of the scene.

  • Una de mi peliculas favoritas!

  • Bleh, what a silly, censored version, this. ;(

Great movie, scene and song though.

  • great song

    great movie

  • She was testing him to make sure he was of pure vertue...is my taking of it

  • @pudsrus She was indeed. And the dirty bitch would have shagged his cock off if he broke the door down and saved himself in the process.

  • I would have failed completely!

  • @pudsrus NO WAY. They were offering him a chance to buck up throughout the entire series of events.

  • @pudsrus Yes-his whole experience on the ISLAND is a test-made clearer in the longer cut (which also has the full version of this song!).

  • @pudsrus your spelling is atrocious

  • So... why exactly did Willow try to seduce Howie even though the village needed him to be a virgin?

  • I love this song so much it's so beautiful. I covered it actually because I like it so much! :)

    Great flick too.

  • Great movie! Great song!

  • RIP Ewar Woowar Bless you! This is one of the best films ever made, and this one of its classic scenes It SCARES me that so many people feel threatened by a bit of tit and bush. Jeez people every one of you is naked under your clothes. Grow UP

  • It reminds me The Hostel by Quentin Tarantino...when the friends are fucking girls...

  • More like that part of Hostel reminds you of this movie.

  • Sad news - Edward Woodward died today aged 79.

  • indeed, a sad loss, great era of films, acting was great.

  • What is the fucking point of this?? The reason of the song is to tempt him!! That's WHY she's naked. Fuckin waste of time uploading it. Bloody prudes!

  • they got a stripper from glasgow up to the bum scene! britt did the rest but think she was dubbed throughout..

  • summerisle looks like an awesome place to live,a magical pagan island with plenty of booze, group sex and general merriment everywhere,i want to go.

  • Ah, but the naked fire jumping can be kindof dangerous. Not to mention frog-mouthing is their brand of Buckleys. Oh and "stick your head in between the swords" game.

Also standing upwind of the Wickerman makes your clothes stink for weeks.

  • "It's much too dangerous to jump through fire with their clothes on"

  • Ah, clothed or naked, the sport is not safe. That's why they don't recognize in the Olympics any more.

  • thats correct that another actresses body below the her waist

  • Great song . You could speed it up /slow it down and get aretha franklin singing it ,

    english r&b/folk , top stuff !

  • wow if i ever met a girl who sang this song this in pitch to me, naked, id be all over her

  • indeed, she wouldn't have time to finish the song.

  • I still saw side-boob, so YouTube tells me I should feel violated.

  • I fell in love to this song.

  • excellent song

  • Bah hiss, no tits

  • I bet if you posted the "uncensored" version at YTMND they wouldn't take it down.

  • For a moment I thought YouTube's no nudity rule had been broken. Thank heavens I've been protected again from the corrupting sight of bare female flesh. Fortunately I have a copy of this movie and can drool over Britt Eckland's gyrating body whever I like - except some of it is a body double. Ah well. C'est la vie.

  • sublime!

  • what are those twanging string instruments at the end

  • testicular vibration

  • Such a wonderful scene =)

  • Straight female here...but this is unbelievably seductive D=

    shivers..

  • If you haven't seen the film, watch it ; it's even better in that context.

  • oh poor Sgt.Howie .... *Devilish Grin

  • I love the song how do by sneaker pimps this one is just too different for me.

  • Totally off topic,

but how is her hair style acheived?

  • Probably blow-drying and teasing the hair and then using lots of hairspray.

Do a search on here for 'sixties hairstyles' and you can find some tutorials.

  • great song,great film,who's the director(he's a genius)they don't make films as good as this anymore,alas.

  • Comment removed

  • Sneaker Pimps beat you to it in,

    "How Do".

  • Jezus, they've cut this to pieces. What a bummer!

  • i think this is a magical wee film and this scene and song just lift the film at the correct time to get the viewer engrossed wondering where exactly this movie is heading. just magic and Britt looks pretty ok to me aswell

  • niesamowicie wciągająca...

  • Great song great clip. Man I love this scene.

  • Awesome!

    I love this movie!

  • Sort of:

    1. In the parade scene, "Punch" (or the fool) is not from Celtic paganism. but an Italian puppet character, originally called "Puncinello".

    2. The Maypole comes from tree-worship.

    3. The Wicker Man is known only from Roman accounts of pre-Roman Britain. The Romans destroyed much of the Celtic Paganism shown in the film, but some of it survived in Wales.

    4. In the mid-1800's, the Brits had a renewed interest in Celtic language and mythology, and that's when Neo-Paganism began.

  • 1) Not so, the costume may have had a modern take but the sentiment was correct . Kings were sacrificed (as Lord Summerisle points out) and the 'fool for a day' was a substitute. He was like a shadow self of the king, a dark twin who contained all the 'bad' parts of the king, and all the mistakes and mishaps of the people over the year . He acted as a scape-goat and took all the 'sins' with him when he was sacrificed at Beltaine (Easter ) .

  • 2) Nobody worshipped trees; the maypole is an axis pole representing the connection between mind body and spirit and acts as a pathway between this world and the spirit world . Odin hung on one, christ hung on one , Buddha sat underneath one, Inanna made a bed out of one . It can be equated with kundalini and with inducing trance states .

  • An all-time favourite fim and brilliant scene. I first saw this on The Movie Channel in Canada around 1984 not knowing anything about it. This is how to do horror - with intelligence, pacing and suggestion. Please put that recent remake into a Wicker Man and burn it, Lord Summerisle.

  • I read in Wikipedia that this song was also used in the film "Hostel"

Anyone know where in Hostel it appears?

  • the sex scene, but it's the sneaker pimps version. but my god it was one hell of a sensual scene. really sexy and yeah. :D

  • I didn't know that.:) But it's not coincidential, because the original Wicker Man is one of Eli Roth's favorite.

  • Hey ho who is there?

  • this is the censored version where they edit out her bum!! (which is a bum double cos britt was too thin)

  • Wasn't it because she was pregnant?

  • I don't know for sure, to be honest. I think I remember on the extras on the DVD that Britt wasn't full enough in the director's opinion, so he got someone with a bigger bum to dance in these scenes and she wasn't best pleased about it :) - lovely song either way. Cheers now.

  • She only agreed to being filmed above the waist.

  • I found this on vhs in 1998 and I loved it. The movie was pretty much forgotten until it came out on DVD.

I was overjoyed to see a creepy thriller based on Celtic religion. I'd learned about the Wicker Man and all the human-sacrifice rituals of the ancient Britons, but it all seems to have passed on into history.

    Unless you're a Druid.

  • I was actually just about to ask how accurate to Paganism they were; I'm looking to rent the movie soon and I've been curious how well they do. I saw the disclaimer at the beginning of the film though and that gave me some confidence that they did their research, but I won't know for certain until I see it :)

  • What do you mean by pagan ? You have to define that first before you can ask whether it was accurate or not.

  • She performs for the camara, that make this scene very weird.

    This movie it's great.

  • Taking offense to censorship is totally different from longing to jack off. Are you seriously retarded?

  • The answer is "Yes"

  • how come i knew what country your were from before i checked on your profile..??????....my god what a complete arse you are..

  • Perhaps because America hasn't shaken the puritan influence in the past 300 years. Eh, neo-cons will be neo-cons. Anyone that respects Sean Hannity is an idiot if you ask me.

  • I love the Sneaker Pimps version of this song. Only discovered it was from this film recently.

  • Same, both are awesome. But the sneaker pimps version makes me think of a train for some reason.

  • I won't lie, I like the way Kelly Dayton sings it a lot more. But the instrumentals in the original are better in some ways. The Sneaker Pimps cover has good instrumentals though.

  • This clip has been censored. If you get a chance check this movie out. It's creepy and unusual. Please note, I am talking about the original 1973 movie here.

  • wow this song is beautiful

    like gumtreewillow

  • :-)

  • Were they going to sacrifice rowan if he wasn't the right adult

  • No.

  • oh ok

whats up with her dancing on the wall

  • I personally think this song sounds like a child wailing in her sleep. Will someone fill me in with the film's nameso I can see this babe starkers.

    ta

  • "The Wicker Man", the 1973 release by British Lion Films.

  • Make sure it's the original "Wicker Man", not the crummy remake with Nick Cage. This movie is super creepy and weird and this scene is a total T and A fest, but it looks like this clip has been editted. First time I saw this, I watched it two times consecutively.

  • two times meaning the whole movie, not just this scene...lol.

  • The remake is awful, the original is clearly best

  • I think Bats for Lashes should remake this song. If you heard her/their music before it would be perfect!

  • Very true - This song does sound remarkably like 70's underground acid folk!

  • Heigh ho! Who is there? No one but me, my dear. Please come say, How do? The things I'll give to you. By stroke as gentle as a feather Heigh ho! I am here Am I not young and fair? Please come say, How do? The things I'll show to you. Would you have a wond'rous sight The midday sun at midnight? Fair maid, white and red, Comb you smooth and stroke your head
  • hypnotising. yes, that goes without saying, just like it goes without saying that it is a great song. There is somethingelse about it which is hard to identify, but it is that unidentified thing that makes it so great. maybe it is the actress, the reaction given by edward woodward, the sheer magnificance of the tune, or perhaps the relation the song has with the untimely end of the sergeant. with his resisting the woman, and remaining a virgin, he certified his own sacrafice in this scene.

  • i don't see the point in cutting out the nude scenes because part of the film was the fact that the policeman was disgusted by all the nudity and sexualness on the island, so cutting it out you will be missing part of the film...

  • (hypnotized) Heigh ho, how do, you're young and fair!

  • this is amazing that she tries to seduce an unmarried christian this is 1 of the scenes which makes the movie so weird wich is just so good!!!

  • Great piece of cinema - but horribly censored in this clip. What's wrong with a bit of tasteful nudity?

  • Seeing her spank her ass was funny in the part i seen.... Without the censoring.

  • "funny"? so you did not see the whole film?

  • Yes, i've seen the whole movie. What i meant by "in the part i seen" was i saw this part uncensored and it's a lot better that way. This movie is great.

  • I don't think this movie is funny but surely you'll agree with the remake being funny.

  • How can you ask? The sight of the naked human body is corrupting! YouTube is protecting us from ourselves. One glimpse of a nipple could be enough to turn men into wild beasts. Odd though that they have no compunctionn about showing barbaric executions in graphic detail. Funny old world innit!

  • @mikelheron20 What an immaturely simplistic post.

  • @7beers My point was that Utube seems to have strange notion of what is offensive and what they should protect us from. Sorry if you find that immature and simplistic. The fact that you do says quite a lot about you, I'd say. Or was the irony lost on you?

  • @mikelheron20 Don't flatter yourself.
