I caught my first Lucero show recently, and the only thing bad I can say is when the singer thought the mic wasnt picking up his voice, he said something to the band members...but the mic picked it up and it was the most effeminate, lilting sounding voice i have heard in a while...not gravelly or smokey. If the accent is an act, then these guys immediately fit into the shitty category of every other country musician. i hope im wrong!

A friend of mine recently turned me on to this band. WOW! What an amazing sound. A soul is so prevalent in this music. Not "soul" as in music genre, but a soul that emanates from the human beings making the music. Every note, ever word, exudes that soul and love of their music. I'd love it if they made it to California!
