  • nice guitar bro im just asking does your guitar have the neutrik jack? and how does it work how do you take off the cable wire from the guitar when its locked?

  • my first gibson guitar was the SG standard. i cant put it down like. ever.

  • That is a beautifull colour ;)

  • dream guitar

  • I bought my 1972 Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in mint condition with original case privately for $550. I'll keep that.

  • its a pre chambered 08 les paul standard. better than the chambered 08 std. i would swop my 08 standard gold top for one of these.

  • Not an '08. Maybe a Standard before '08, but definitely not the '08.

  • @ErosaScuderia who cares?¡ is a fuckin gibson les paul

  • I'm 15 and I started working in a restaurant a few weaks ago.

I worked really hard and now I finally bought a Gibson Les Paul.

    I'm the happiest person alive!

  • do u know how to use that badass??

  • its not a 2008 standard. in fact, its not even a standard...standards have "Standard" printed on the truss rod cover. this looks like a Traditional. dont try to correct me. i have a 2008 Standard

  • @ProblemPeople well it is a standard for shur maybe its used

  • good for you!!

  • im getting a fender for my b-day

  • nice how much did it cost?

  • i also think that is not a 2008 les paul

look at the grover tuner and the pickup should have little stickers

  • i prefer the black ones

  • isnt that the "desert burst" color? not ice tea?

  • @RatMeat1891 That's not even a Standard '08 so it doesn't really matter.

  • the guitar is sweet. but the collor kindoff suck-.-

  • I bought my first Gibson from the original owner through an ad in the paper. A mint condition 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Tobacco Sunburst) with original case for $375. There is no feeling like getting your first quality instrument. Especially at such a price.

  • Want it!!!!!

  • i have the same guitar too! its awesome! but i have 2 gibsons

  • do they not do the purple in side the case any more

  • Wow... Man, that's even more beautiful than it looks on the Sweetwater picture gallery... Boy, what a gorgeous, fine-looking guitar, my absolute compliments to you, my friend! Upload some new videos from 2011! Just to check how the Gibby's doing, and also how have you grown up as a guitarist and an artist!

    Take care, bro, peace!

  • whoohoo just turned 15 and starting to save up for a gibby for myself cant wait

  • Congrats my friend. At the moment, I am playing a Studio. Would love to get a Gold Top, but those are a little too expensive for my small budget. Maybe Gibson will sponsor me and give me a couple. I bought my first real nice guitar when I was 16. Still have it, its a Fender Strat sunburst.

  • Congrats my friend. At the moment, I am playing a Studio. Would love to get a Gold Top, but those are a little too expensive for my small budget. Maybe Gibson will sponsor me and give me a couple.

  • Drop D is for pussies.

  • nice guitar is it good? because im thinking of buying one

  • It's a beast.

  • the last of the real standards.... i love the changes but why call that new one a standard?

  • Sweet! Nothing-like opening up a brand new shipping carton!

  • I felt like going to this but , I felt like settling down for my first Gibson a lp 60s tribute studio and im just 13 haha

  • Why Do Poor people Hate on a Guitar just cause they can't Afford???

Get some cash or just STFU lol.

  • @PimpWizard3000 ever heard of the credit crunch?

  • That's a Standard it's just from the first half of 2008. Gibson changed things up half way thru the year and added the asymmetrical neck, the chambered body, different tuners, etc. The quickest way to tell is they added the word "Standard" back to the truss cover.

  • im thirsty!!!

i want to drink an iced tea

  • im thirsty!!!

i want to drin an iced tea

  • At 2:55 he probes that he knows how to open the case !!!!

Aren't those tuners wrong for a 2008 by the way ???

    Beautiful guitar anyway ????

  • Congratulations...awnsome guitar, very nice the iced tea version

  • 2:12 lol hahaha

now when you have a 2500 bugs guitar make a cover!

  • not fair!!!!!!!

  • i got a gibson sg standard 09 now but think i will get the les paul

  • Nice guitar kiddo, but you gotta pay your dues and practice with that thing until your fingers bleed and you hit 10,000 hours of practice...Oh and start early on listening to and playing like Joe Bonamassa.

  • u could play something...if you know.... and buy a new strings

  • beautiful guitar bro..

  • Congratulations kiddo and happy playing..you have a piece of history in your hands!!!!

  • Daaaaaamn kid , your so lucky .

  • what music was that...very cool.

  • @informedcarpet - nice, I just got the same deal.. Are you getting the plek made one or early 2008 standard? if the plek... make sure it says standard on truss cover plate, locking 1/4 jack input, locking grovers ect.. there were 2 types in 2008.. obviously they are both great.. make sure that you check with the dealer it was purchased from for any problems.. if you are getting it used..

  • im getting this one second hand for £750!

  • nice guitar for a spoiled little kid.

  • nice axe make her sing

  • you better know how to play that guitar, otherwise just get an epiphone

  • That music is CRAP. Nice guitar though.

  • I think this is traditional

  • Why didn't you play it??

  • Just went to the kids page in HIGH HOPES he had put out an impressive (at least more than picking 3 power chords) video. I wasn't let down, this kid can play and I think he's a little older than I thought and it looked like there was a Strat in the background, all three of these things make me respect this guy. 1. Its not his first guitar. 2. He really CAN play 3. He learned and moved up to a nicer guitar. I think this is how its done, don't just put a 2,500 guitar in a childs hands.

  • omg she is beautiful

  • Lol, the guitar will last him his whole life :D

  • The kid already disappeared from youtube 2 years ago. All the irrelevant, jealous comments aren't even being read by him. I think his old man bought him the gear because he can shred quite well.

He's probably out there playing his heart out and doesn't have time to waste here on youtube with all the bitchy comments! He's probably loving life rather than feeling sorry for himself like me. If i was 16 with chops like that I'd be doing ok. The musicality will come later with commitment and study.

  • @CTuxford Your comment makes no sense. Why would anyone be "jealous" of anyone for purchasing a product? It's done all of the time.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone People get jealous because most people in the world cannot afford to buy a top of the line Les Paul, and feel very down about it. It is made worse if they deem that the player, in their opinion, doesn't deserve the instrument because they aren't as good as they are. It's human nature.

  • @CTuxford Obviously it's not everyone's nature, or you would not have received a reply such as mine.

  • @Happyhippiedude. What the fuck is wrong with you? Just because the kid has a Les Paul dosent mean he's a spoiled brat. Maybe his dad worked his fucking ass off so his son can persue his dream as a guitarist. You have no right saying shit like that. No right at all. Just cuz he has an expensive guitar and you dosent mean you can get so harsh and ignorant.

  • @XxAnnaAveXx i said probably so you can back the hell off

  • @happyhippiedude Probably or no probably , you shouldnt say shit like that to a little kid. Why the fuck do you care if he has a les paul or not? why do you care for the reason? dont be a ignorant dumbshit.

  • @blindredpride No your a bitch for saying that. His first guitar is a fucking les paul that I played around 1,000 shows and went through about 100 guitars before I got and my family are professional musicians! He will never be good and will damn sure NEVER EVER respect that guitar to the level it should be. It will be broken or hocked up in 3 years for weed.

  • @willeng84 u don't know that

  • @BayouBluesMan ummmmmm, no its pretty much a fact, do you understand how many guitars like this by this point I have bought directly or second hand from kids just like this. They turn 14 and decide they want to play guitar like they're favorite musician, the problem is they want it like they wanted the les paul= Something for nothing, sooooo in when he hasn't learned even a song in 4 weeks it goes into the case, after another month or two its under the bed, then its at a used guitar store.

  • @willeng84 yeah that's the majority but still even if it ends up on a guitar shop it's one more better deal for u, if he plays it good for him, if he stores it in a closet good for his future kid ,cousin, grandson , u catch my drift? if u buy a guitar no one loses, everyone might gain something, 10 times better than spending money on meaningless things that don't touch the soul. I was serving tables for a year to get my strat still if i had a rich dad all the better for me

  • @BayouBluesMan But my point is this do you understand how much more that strat means to you then to someone just handed a Les Paul? I promise it means 1000 times more, and your wrong b/c when you buy kids expensive things shit gets broken. Mine is 5 or 6 years old and literally if someone touches the Laquer over the beautiful desert burst I wig out on them, like wig the fuck out, "don't touch my guitar, its worth more than your life to me" thats shit I say. If you earn it you will respect it.

  • a kid doesn't have the money to get a les paul but still the earliest u start playing the better so only by that u buy the kid the guitar and if indeed the thing gets broken then no more expensive presents

  • @BayouBluesMan Thats like saying give a 16 year old a BMW and see what happens, you know that right. Its that same idea as getting a kid a decent first car so he doesn't beat something beautiful ( Les Paul) to shit b/c its GONNA HAPPEN. I started out with a Mexican strat that I bought in 8th grade with the Savings bonds I won from being smart and winning 3rd place in the City at the Science fair. I earned it, and worked my way up. Nothing wrong with a Mex Strat, put a humbucker in it.

  • @BayouBluesMan sorry but im the guy who in the video and ive work so hard to get this guitar! i was 14 and i was able to buy a lot more than this!

  • Beautiful guitar man

  • Spoiled, if he can't play that song. Haha. Great Gibson though. Enjoy and Rock the Planet!!!

  • u probably are some spoiled brat whos dad went out and bought him a les paul for his first guitar and u look very small do u know how fat the neck of a les paul is i would know i have sevaral and most likely unlike u i bought them all by working my fingers to the bone to buy them

  • lol That finish is nicer than my 2 CS Gibson Les Pauls lol... ghey :|

  • dude i bet you don't desrve it, that probabily was you FIRST guitar, because you did't look that exited, a real guitarist would be neeled when he saw his new guitar

  • how much dick did he have to suck for that?

  • Must be nice to be spoiled as fuck.

  • ur one lucky dude man

  • I keep telling you people, buy used. Go private. My Gibson Roy Smeck Radio Grande Hawaiian steel acoustic with original case I bought at a house sale. Just lying in a room corner with a ton of other items stacked up everywhere. Current value? $19,000. My cost? 40 dollars.

  • Okay, so you bought a product. Why the hell would you waste your time, or anyone else's, making and posting an utterly worthless video about it? Who on earth would care? At all? Oh, by the way, I bought my mint condition 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Tobacco Sunburst) from the original owner through a newspaper ad for $375. If you paid a new price in a shop, you got REAMED. So, every time you take it out of the case, remember to tell yourself, "I got REAMED", before you begin to play.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheF86Sabre You don't think, period. If you did, you wouldn't sound like such a juvenile imbecile.

  • @DoctorLawyerWhatever Wow ! It took you tree weeks to think up that rebuttal. I guess when you get REAMED, you really get reamed !

  • i got the same guitar its right next 2 me

  • Nice guitar!! You have a very nice Standard there. Gibson didnt change to the "new" style of Standard til aug 1, 2008...and by your serial #, your guitar was made on the 93rd day of 2008...well before the new appointments were implemented. Hopefully you got a good deal on it...enjoy!!

  • What does the asymmetric neck profile feel like, is it noticeable/beneficial?

  • Now that's what i call a..WASTE of hella good guitar. I don't really give a crap about gibson and little punks with no skills who buy them... i play Dean USA... but anyway.. kid, can you really handle that thing? Being weak and skinny like you are is not a good thing when you own a Gibson.

  • @ThePanteraTribute I'm actually a pretty thin guy and short, maybe not the most fit. But I LOVE the heavy weight, of a les paul. It reminds me that I'm playing a king.

  • dude where's the point of shooting and them posting a video of u gettin a new guitar????

  • I've always loved these Les Paul's, they are really really nice.

  • nice

  • good for u :) new standard is nothing special...old one .is a real guitar...

  • 2:09

Oh he learned a D chord!! Lets get him a 3,000 dollar guitar!!!

  • @conoshmono12

    $2.200

My son got a 6 grand CTS VOS for learning some chords . Some parents are proud of thier kids lol

  • @Stevespeeze Personally, with a collection numbering over 300 instruments, you should have looked privately; infinitely better prices. Newspaper ads, house sales, flea markets, etc. For example, I picked up a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe from the original owner (Cherry Sunburst, mint condition) with original case for $550. I recently turned down an offer of $7,500 for it. You buy new in a shop, you're not only getting lesser quality, but you are also paying the shop's 50% mark-up cost.

  • @conoshmono12 D chord! On an unplugged guitar.....

  • @conoshmono12 I was ABOUT to like this coment because my train of tought was along the lines of yours, but then i thought JUST to make sure i don't stick my foot in my mouth im gonna go ahead and look if theres any video's of him playing...

I reccomend you do the same,

theres no god damn way im liking your comment after a wall of this kid shredding reached out and slapped me in the face.

  • @jordanbeaulieu thanks for the comment :) im the guy in the video :P i was 13 when i did that video!:P im gonna send more videos on my other channel if you wanna see tem!:)

  • @conoshmono12 hes actually pretty good dude check out his new vid

  • @conoshmono12 LUCKY! i think i have to play 'still got the blues' from gary moore to even step closer to holding this guitar..

  • I dont get it, did they send you the wrong guitar?

  • where is standard label plates? standard from 2008 have still machine heads whit locking sistem

....quick-connect control pocket assembly, locking Neutrik jack...

PLEK set-up... u have tradicional or something else..that is not standard....

  • @zaggazoom noob, it's a 2008 Standard without the new upgrades !!!!!

  • @UltimateStratocaster maybe in china

  • @zaggazoom

PLEK started in 09 or 10..

I like the finish on this guitar though. The pick guard is in the case when you buy it.

Good guitar for a young one to start on

  • @Stevespeeze PLEK started in 08.....no OR...gibson standard have " STANDARD" logo in 2008. PICK GUARD is in the case yes...

  • @zaggazoom

Wasnt sure about the plek, i never owned the lower standard model. I had a Classic plus i think was the cheapest one i bought. A tech i know says you can still send an older gibson to a shop with a plek setup and have it done but not sure the cost.

    My Supreme needs it.

  • @zaggazoom Newer ones do not come with a standard label on the truss rod cover, I have an 07 exactly like this I bought brand new. I actually like it compared to the 08's because its not hollowed out the same way. The newer ones are chambered to relieve weight whereas before they would just swiss cheese a few holes.

  • @zaggazoom That is 100% a standard. They haven't come with the plate in a minute. I bought mine directly from Gibson Nashville, I got the pre chambered standard which was before 2006 and it doesn't have the standard on it, nor did the ones I have seen before that.

  • @zaggazoom You have 27 thumbs up to something thats not true. I don't fucking know where you get the idea that standards all say standard on the name plate but NONE OF THEM DO. Maybe like some early 90's throw back but when I was shopping for mine a few years back none of them did, not the older ones and damn sure not the newer ones so...... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! I don't think a kid should get a guitar that expensive but its the real thing. I got the Darker one in this video, Desert burst.

  • @willeng84 Standard appears on the trust rod cover for all models back in the day. Not sure when it was dropped, but I own a couple of dozen models pre-1985, and they all do.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone I meant new ones. I even said I don't know where you get the idea ALL standards say that...... I was saying the newer ones for a fact do not but yes I agree and definitely know that earlier models did come equipped with it.

  • @zaggazoom hi im the guy on the video:P i have the discontinued les paul iced tea. ive waited 2 months to have the guitar because they could not find the older les pauls.

  • @zaggazoom not all of them...mines a 2008 standard without all that. They're the 1st batch of axes from 08.

  • @zaggazoom im the guy in the video... i have the discontinued version 2008 the old version

  • @jay666gibson Ahh thats what I suspected, nice looking guitar ya got there. I've got the newer 2008 edition in Desertburst, I honestly wish it didn't have the Neutrik locking jack, I'm scared if i trip over the cord it'll snatch the jack right out of the guitar.

  • @zaggazoom It's very likely that this guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Standard that happened to be manufactured in 2008 and did not have the locking features, not to be confused with the "Gibson 2008 Les Paul" which is still being manufactured today, two different guitars.

The "Gibson 2008 Les Paul" does have 'Standard' labelled on the truss rod cover.

  • That's a Standard it's just from the first half of 2008. Gibson changed things up half way thru the year and added the asymmetrical neck, the chambered body, different tuners, etc. The quickest way to tell is they added the word "Standard" back to the truss cover.

  • @zaggazoom its the last run of the unchambered standards.if it was a trad it would have speed knobs pleck sticker on bridge pup. tradicional on truss rod cover. and so. on.check out his serial nomber a.3.29.with gibson stop hateing on a young kid its sad. 40 people are epiphone fans.

  • Nice guitar. I just bought one. You can see me play it. Just go to my channel. It is just a small demo clip. I am setting up a studio an will have some full length vids shortly.

  • thanks for showing it off to us...

  • I just saw that guitar and jizzed...

  • idk im not a huge fan of les pauls without pickguards on them. for some reason they always look like prs's to me.

  • how nice of daddy :|

  • how much was it ?

  • @cjdMobile66 $4000 new.

  • @van1980 uhm no... 2600 new...

  • @paintballer417 The stds on the Gibson website are at $3,899. That's why I said new...the 2008s obviously not as much.

  • @van1980 ohh aightt yeah thats the msrp either way there still way too much money for what you get now

  • god damn Gibson Les Pauls are magnificent

  • Be thankful kid you got rich parents. lol

  • I just got a Gibson Es 335 Black (:

  • @k4rnflip my dream guitar is a 335 in cherry thats sweet bro

  • @SiKxBlAzEr I have two; a Cherry, and a Walnut. Both are for sale. If interested, let me know. But be prepared to part with a wheelbarrow full of dead presidents.

  • omg i had a guitar like that but my mom pownd it whene i wasint looking :( good i miss that guitar now im stuck with my schecter

  • @kanedeadman1 id kill her

  • @SiKxBlAzEr i want to

  • not a 2008 model lol

  • lucky bastard.

  • how much you paid?

  • hmmm a gibson lp 2008 with schaller tuners?

a bit strange, cuz the 2008 normally has locking grovers and i also miss the the "standard" on the trussrod cover...

    but looks good anyway ;)

  • @Pash091 yer I think its a traditional not a standard

  • @86gnr07 No, it's a Standard before all of the upgrades. The new Standards weren't released until Summer 2008.

  • @RejectionsNation ummm what?

  • 2:09 - what the fuck are you doing with the guitar unplugged, you dumbass?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheF86Sabre How do you know it was handed to him? How do you know he hasn't been cutting lawns and delivering newspapers for the past three years to get that guitar?

  • @murfdog19 Educated guess, take the kids age , Times the amount of lawns he would have to cut...right ...now the kids forty....daddy is holding the camera!

  • @TheF86Sabre Well, two lawns a day at $20 a piece, four days a week for two and a half months each summer would buy him the Les Paul-and them some-in just two summers!

  • @murfdog19 What about expenses, dating, pot, french fries, come on dude daddy bought it!
