@FuzzyCigarDude It was because it was a c section.. they need to take the placenta out, make sure the mother doesnt bleed to death. Some c sections are done as emergency, or of something is going on with the baby or mother. if its a vaginal birth, they usually give the baby to the mom right away, if there is no health concerns. That "thing" Is something that sucks out fluid out of the babys nose and mouth so it could breathe better.
