i use to have a rare 16" pifco spinair desk fan from a car boot sale it was £2.00 but i knocked her down to 50p i still have the fan but its some ware in the loft i will try to do a vid on it david :-)
Was chuffed to see the Electro Star Starlet on there, I've been racking my brains foir god knows how long trying to remember the brand. I saw these for sale in Argos back in the late 80's alongside the black Pifcos.
Westinghouse actually made fans from around 1900, I know a guy with an early Tesla model. I also spoke to a guy in Belgium who had a 1950's Westy Livelyaire fan. "Whirlwind" is a name the early Westinghouse fans.
I like that Pifco. The "knock" noise might be fiber washers in the motor, those set the endplay. That second one looks like an old American drugstore fan (read cheap & cheerful). I've never seen anything like that Electrostar.
Agree with bloodred, lovely to see you again. I really, really love your vids and even watch some of the older ones again and again. I have also put a video on youtube of one of my fans. Search for chrisgranton or type in Hydor Typhoon 3 Speed Fan. I love your Pifco in particular and have always loved those transparent blades the older fan models have :) Wish they would make them like this again!

Hi again, good to see your latest video on YT.

Don't suppose you'd consider selling it at all?
Kind regards

interesting that the 3rd fan features such a bright, baby blue colored cord.
yes, Westinghouse is an American-originated company. they also manufacture light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, etc.
for awhile, they had a joint venture and were manufacturing appliances under the name "White-Westinghouse."
♪ ♫ "White-Westinghouse...we're makin' things better for you!" was their tv jingle
