How do you fix this problem: When I shoot for some reason the ball tends to release from the pocket at about the peak of my shot with an over-shoulder shot. My side-hand shot is great but my high shot is not there at all. Can anyone give me some help or some tips? Much appreciated.

Many First Nations players work on curve shots. Gaylord Powless could shoot a bullet with a 1.5ft curve over a 30ft shot. It would eat up goalies. It's all in the release on an overhand shot, not the type of head/shaft.

in canadian box, even though there is no limit on depth, if the ref can hold your stick at 90 degrees, heads downwards, and the ball doesnt come out it is illegal. also the distance between the inside of your sidewalls has to be at least the width of the ball.

No restrictions on that. You can do pretty much anything you want with your shooters. My friend uses eight shooting strings. It's pretty much a rocket pocket. It has such a smooth release, yet, the perfect amount of whip.
