  • for more!?

  • This version has more of a thrill than the 1968 version. Too bad this version wasn't a hit like the musical, because I think it's just as good

  • i love there stealing methods

  • This movie is extremely faithful to the book !! they didn't miss anything !! 10/10 .

I cried watching this film .

  • bet roman polanski loved doing this film - think of all those kids he got...

  • "End Titles" from the film Nicholas Nickleby is the name of the song towards the end of the trailer. Such a great piece.

  • I remember watching this at school. I thought it was a good movie but the 1968 musical film was so much better and more entertaining :) And besides, only Jack Wild will always be the Artful Dodger to me. When other boys play the role of the Artful Dodger in newer versions of Oliver Twist, they just don't portray him as well as Jack Wild did. But that's just my opinion :)

This 2005 version was still good though.

  • can anyone upload the full movie

  • Dickens' ghost strike me down, I keep expecting them to sing.

  • is that nibs from peter pan?

  • woah this trailer made fagin look like a good guy O.O

  • @bromeol909 fagin is somewhat good guy... bill is actually the bad one :)

  • The old one was better.

  • I love this movie!! So perfectly cast!! So beautifully directed!! And its one of the best stories of all time!!

  • XD Dodger's the best:

    "Fancy that you're famous Fagin."

  • where is the dog ?

  • would someone plz upload the full 2005 movie i'm dying 2 see it !!!! PLZ

  • I haven't seen this version; however, based on this trailer, it looks like Polanski, a director I respect, took a lot of visual inspiration from the 1968 musical. Likewise, Ben Kingsley is a great actor, but it looks to me like he's impersonating Ron Moody.

  • And what I mean by changed is, when the script was written, they probably changed Dodger a bit.

  • Harry did a great job in my opinion. I do agree I wanted Dodger to be more charismatic than what he offered, but sometimes characters change. Either way, in the book, when Charley was making fun of Oliver's clothes, I recall Dickens wrote that "even the Dodger smiled". So I'm guessing he had his reserved times.

  • Polanski is the best.

    And that is it.

    No more to be said.

  • this is the remaking of a great master piece in the 21st century. hopefully there are more in the the pipeline to follow. I love seeing the characters coming to live...

  • I want to know if it's possible to buy the instrumental playing in the background towards the end of the trailor. . .

  • @therealcritic28 it's possible downloading it on emule writing "Nicholas Nickleby" on the search

  • @Starscream83inc

thanks very much! I'll look into it . . .

  • my favourite character was dodger!

  • I can't believe i never saw this movie! It looks so well done!

  • Brilliant movie

  • I'm not sure, but the hanging comment in the story had more to do with the man suggesting that, someday, Oliver would be hanged, implying that this was his inevitable fate. They did terrible things to him for asking for 'some more' but hanging him was not his punishment. I can't wait to finish it and watch this movie :)

  • did orphans really get hanged for asking for more food back in those days?

  • It's possible. The reason many children's charities such as Barnardo's and the NSPCC were launched in victorian times is that back then children were treated so badly they actually had less rights legally than animals.

  • Thats Horrible =(

  • child child child!

  • I love this movie! The music is awesome! I love England's style in this century.

  • Truly a great movie.

The onlt thing I didn't like much about it was the way Harry Eden played Dodger.

The Dodger is supposed to be a cocky little twerp. Bold, smart, fast, and charismatic. Like Jack Wild's Dodger. Even tho this movie is darker and completely different than Oliver! (1968).. Jack Wild strutted around the set. I missed that bit with Harry Eden.

He's Dodger was so quiet and I got the feeling he had low self esteem..

  • @Rashitface

That's a very good point. Although you could also look at it as him playing the Dodger as more of a watchful observer, reserved but opinionated, rather than low self-esteem as you put it.

Although I do agree that Dodger needs to have more of a presence and a grounded self-assuridity.

  • why nobody upload the movie?

  • @LefteriPotter its uploaded now ! :)

  • love this movie... 1:03 and 1:33 are such good scenes ;)

  • @saupigen i've never seen it because i was 7 when it came out so i didnt know about it until now, but the part in 1:33 looks good lol "fancy that, youre FAMOUS Fagin!" *fagin hits him in the stomach* "oof..." lol XD

  • could someone please upload this version

  • i love this movie
