@enlightenedspartan Listen to Squeeze if you like those bands. They went techno at one point but other songs like Is That Love, Up the Junction, Another Nail for my Heart, are classics.
Was the only kid in my school who had heard of and loved the Housemartins (aged 13-14) I still love them (40 this week) and still playing it loud and sing it proud ... feck the flocks with their Duran Duran mundanity
@jatinderdhillon I too was right into The Housemartins at School - my older Brother had a Vespa PX Scooter and even had the HULL 4 LONDON 0 Album graphics all over it. Great times, memories and sounds.
Just gotten their first ever recording on a reel and we are going to be uploading it very soon if anyone is interested, just transfering it now from reel to computer.
Ahhh, the early makings of music videos....so simple, emotional..yet innocent...just like the music in a way.
Today everything from film to videos, TV is so "OVER" processed, produced, pondered and purified, it's almost scientific, sterile and clinical....where's the art? The dirty, quirky, gritty innovators?
Oh I should add, on the live tapes from this gig referance is made to the next song to be played is a new song, "which will be out someday" as Stan started to get emotional.
Paul quickly cleared up by saying " lets get on with the road as they say", but the song was Alway's something ther to remind you, Fooking Leeds haters!
I missed the Housemartins by days, as they played Bridlington Spar with the Proclaimers as support but my folks insisted of not staying on for extra holiday days!.
Had some great times when these tracks were out.I couldnt count how many girls i fingered behind a skip of bricks with the martins on my sony walkman.
Adidas trimm trabs, farahs and ben shermans,i'd go back tommorow!
O Paul sempre está engraçado nos clipes, mas nesse ele se superou começando pela roupa e depois pelos movimentos horizontais dos quadris shuashuashua... Paul i love you
oh great memories, this band and album, made my summer of 86, i was 16, saw them late summer at the octagon Sheffield, ( next day i think they played Bramhall Lane, ), but it was so good.. such memories, i had one of the best summers ever that year..never went home..lived out of my big green Benetton duffle bag..lol lol
You are correct. Not they are NOT the ONLY American in love with Paul Heaton and the Housemartins. My brother and I had a band band in the early 1990's that played this song, plus Over There, I'll Be Your Shelter, We're Not Deep and other Housemartin songs as well as several Beautiful South songs. I miss those days.
no m8 , just like 2 have a larf !!!!! lighten up , you seem 2 b 2 serious or just 2 high dramacamp ?????? listen to bowies :kooks on hunky dori , you will love it ?? have a good en ,,,, the dags

In their stiles, I consider the Housemartins and The Prodigy the best brit groups ever.
Actually Norman Cook, a member from the Housemartins, happened to become FatBoy Slim...
