Rick, this vid was the inspiration to get my 79 Trans Am vid done! (after buying from your shop first.LOL!)...Trans Am heads can check it out on my channel.
personally Ive always loved the 79TA ....but as im looking to buy one...i ran across a 76 ta...4speed man, 455....in pristine condition.
Im not a fan of the front end for 76..but that seems like a wicked combo...that motor with 4speed man (and its got the ttops too). what would you all go for....?

heyy ricky80ss, im only 14 but im hoping you will still be selling 1979 trans am's in a bout 5-10 years when i will be able to buy one, will you? and could you get them shipped to Australia?
@guitarg0d7007 wait u right but its the piont they birds aint this rare classic birds but they get love my dad has a 79 i have a 96 n we sound like A earth quake
@TheBoss90011 i believe 80 and 81 are the Turbocharged V8s. which performed badly if i may add. regardless, this body is the best the TransAm has ever had
This is mint from the looks... prob a 25 to 30k car... I want a driver, not a show car. I mean something you can take to show and shines, but not big shows...
i mite be gettin one of these pretty soon, not a special edition or anythin just a ta but its juss sittin in a field n i wanna give it a second chance
looking at buying one of these... going to Oaklahoma and have to drive it back to the east coast of Canada... Just the price I have to pay... lol... Bandit run!
I am affraid to tell you need to study the history of Trans Ams, this car is a real Special Edition, proof of it is the build sheet showing the special edition package done at the factory (y84 code), furthermore, Trans Ams Special edition came with different color options, black, camel tan, red, white etc... being the most popular black and camel. Another thing SE package has nothing to do with drivetrain. Speciale editions came automatic 3 speed or manual 4 speed, no 5 speed in any 2nd gen TA
@ricky80ss School em' Boss! Couldn't touch my original 1979 Hatch delete, 400, 4 SP, with a 50 foot pole anyway(only 1180 made or somewhere around that number). And to MegaVega, my car has been valued at $42,000 minimum in Jan of 2010...all original baby! BTW, they don't make Pontiac's anymore...value skyrocketed within 2 months of announcing Pontiac died.
nuevisimo¡¡¡¡parese acabante de salir de la fabrica de los muscle car para mi es el mas bonito en rojo con las llantas muy anchas que bienen y planchado con el motor mejorado es una belleza
nice car..much respect for mustangs-about the $ though--TAs are basically going for 10000-35000 for good solid usually orig builds..SDs can get 50,000 depending on build again..And Mecem auto show (never spell that right) had a bone stock 76 trans am, with 55ooo miles on it sell for 145000, yea not a typo there, three days ago...mustangs def can sell well, but they have to be a special version --shelby , HOs , CJs u know...
sweet once when i bought a prix and we were going home i saw a 1979 firebird along the way gray or silver but she was stunning LOL wanted to turn back and get it how much does it cost?
it's a very nice t/a ... but 32.500$ you're probably dreaming. 32.500 for a 1979 t/a forget that. i got a '72 mustang mach1 in the same condition for 22 000$
the problem is because some people don't even know about the 71-73 mustang models ... these cars are not very ''popular'' as the '' burt reynolds '' car but they are so much more collectible .. these cars can bring a lot of money on the auction block. i'm talking about the last muscle mustang ... you can only dream about finding a '72 351 H.O mustang or 73 351 cobra jet ... these cars are very valuable a so much rarer than the t/a.
we respect your opinion, I think is hard to measure how collectible is a car, there are many factors involved. If you ask me I would ever buy a 72 or 73 mustang, I owuld only buy the 1967 model since thats the one I like better. Now noone can deny TA's became the hotter collectible of late 70's ,it is all over the magazines, they call it "the next big hit" on the classic car industry.
yes absolutely , for me the t/a was the hottest car of the late 70s too .. so much a better car than the 1978 mustang king cobra who just seems to be a cheap copy of the trans-am. i was just comparing my '72 mach 1 for the price ... because they are so much rare to find and the last ''real'' powerful cars from the muscle car era.
My dad use to have one of these bad ass cars. it was white (i think it was pearessent) and he met my mom with this car. cant wait till i meet my girl with a car like his. ;)
Nice way to end the video with the light pole.....lol
