chris, i just stopped this video at the point where you share the secret that saved the day: putting cat litter into the toilet bowl!!! *ORION* Night Hunter of the Stars spent months reaching the final litter-less toilet .. and decided right then and there that the adjoining Sink was niftier. After 9 months i bought a plastic set for cats .. and now, again, we are up to the final stage.And he shit & peed on the floor right next to it.

Flushing it is probably much easier than scooping it and putting it in the trash. It probably takes away a lot of the odor of a litter box (except when the deed has just been done). He'll probably never stop trying to bury it, for the same reason my cat rubs his declawed front paws on rough surfaces, even though there are no claws there to sharpen-it is instinctual.

I'm working on toilet training. Got a litter box device that actually looks like a toilet seat so they get used to balancing on it. we're still on phase two (halfway height to normal bowl height).. but working on it. :D Glad to know it can really be done. :P

man i tried to do that with momo, and we got to the litter inside the bowl thing, but i was using this thing they sell on the internet that is made of plastic and it goes under the seat and he HATED it cause it was flimsy when he stood on it. then he started pooing everywhere he wasn't supposed to. and i had to retrain him JUST to use the box. ARGH!

the toilet seat should still be down over the bowl, so he'd only have to stand on it normally. i say try it again and just use a plain old colander. i found one at walmart for a few bucks that had like flat handles so it didn't lift the seat any. he didn't seem to mind it.

Well actually, that wasn't an issue at all. Everytime I noticed he'd used the litter box, I just scooped and flushed it. So there really wasn't much odor at all. Just be sure to use septic safe litter.
