  • Awesome! Thk u so much!! It works! I've only got to knw this pc of shiat was a recalled model fr HP via this tutorial!! Initially it shuts down on its own a few times..but I didn't give up & let it stand vertically..lolxzx..it got heat up & started..however, comes the BSOD..crap..I tried boot w/ BART PE cd..& viola! nw it came back 2 live! & even works faster!

  • Try to Blow Dry the back off the fan..Well I am doing this for several months already and it only takes you 5 minutes..It;s true you have to heat the videocard chip..so instead of turning and off and on..try blow dry it for 5 minutes and there you go it starts (and it won't heat other hard drives like Hard disk, battery, Rams..

  • i have the same problem bro..... my hp also goes black also and has 3 beeps desame as what have shown.... i try already the tips... but it still doesnt work... " d heating up solution....tsk..tsk..

  • @JAM1IE Awesome!

  • thanks a lot man this actually worked.. i know this problem might come back again so what do i do with it...

  • actually there is a permanent cure called reballing.

  • thank you, works on Acer Aspire 9000series

  • This shit works .... lolz but just for few hours ....

  • I got the same fuckin' problem! so if i buy i new motherboard will work ... ?? and how do i install a motherboard on it? pls help

  • for how long does it work until u get the black screen again?

  • The reason this works is the faulty BGA solder on the GPU chip. When you heat up the laptop the metal is expanding and making the electrical connections on the chips work for a while.

If you are mad at HP for this crap, let them know!!! send Emails and contact consumer reports!!! The only way to teach them this is wrong is stop buying hp products and tell them why you don't want their products.

  • @epoxeclipse Very informative.

  • hahahahah thnx man, this actually worked

  • i had the mobo problem and it took hp 3 months to fix it. i sent in my laptop, 3 months later they decided screw it and sent me a brand new laptop. it was nice, but still... 3 months is a long time. Went from a geforce 5100 to 8400 though :)

  • @lAuthenticl

hey i had the same motherboard and i replaced it now the old is in the clothet i need to fix it and keep it spare , can you please explain more , also if the bluetooth is integrated an it be taken out ?

  • It work... But for how long!? HP SUCKS!!!!!

  • tired it worked for one day and next day same problem :(

  • you rock man, it totally worked!! this is certainly not a very conventional treatment (lol) but thing is this worked. how did you find out this method?

  • Thanks this definitely worked! Do you know if HP will replace the laptop since its a recall?

  • Unfortunately the recall was over 1 year ago. I recommend buying a new motherboard on ebay for cheap and get it installed.

  • how ironic. same laptop, same sheets (walmart?) i hope this works tho. kuz im DYING to jailbreak my iphone

  • i did that to my xbox360 AND my ps3 in '07. ps3 got yellow light and my xbox got RRoD like 2 weeks later. WTF! i wrapped both it in like 8 towels and left them on... they both worked like new after, and havent broken since.

  • so you got it workin by not lettin it breath thats genius!!!!

  • i discovered thi on my own....got frustrated and kept it on ....after a while ...6-7 mins,.....it switched off...i turned it back on and the sucker started working........its a bit slow though.......

P.S. FUCK HP!!!.......someone shut that company down.....!!

  • get some ice and put that on this shitty laptop cuz its a heater not a laptop.

  • Nevermind it died again. :(

  • I tried this on my dv9500 and it worked!

I dont know how long it will last, at first it only did 5 minutes but now its been working all day so yeah.

  • the laptop will only work some time
