Reed hired jimmy to go on tour as a back up singer after finding out he was working in a mail room in cleveland. and this actually led to Scotts enormous sucessful comeback which he is stlll enjoying. without lou reed, jimmy scott might very well have dissolved into obscurity. lou reed- 'worthless'? and what impact has your music had on the last 4 decades? so i figured.
Actually, Germany is probably one of the most supportive countries of Jazz and blues.
I know some New Orleans musicians that live their lives gig to gig in New Orleans, where one would think they would be highly regarded, and when they go to Germany, they tour and eat well and live a very good life and play gigs to good and appreciative audiences. Best country to tour in europe most have said.
