Speechless,that's all I can say,I'm left speechless by your work here.....with a couple of pencils,you managed to capture detailed facial expressions and shades, that one could not achieve even with a digital camera :O

@PacificPastime Im a rookie at portraits but i think it might be quality of pencil or the paper. ''flat'' paper wont get dark colours like special drawing paper,.. hope that helped ;)
