I've seen some of these clunkers that are being turned in and I would give anything to have a clunker like that....

Good point pennylaneproductions. There are many unintended consequences of Cash for Clunkers. Dealers that specialize in cheap used cars are already complaining because the government is buying up their supply at $4,500 each.

Charities that accept used cars are also suffering.

Indeed. Not to mention that all those perfectly good cars are being destroyed...senseless waste. Couldn't they be donated? Thank you.
