@mrtigerman4ever Idra goes for hatch before pool 99% of the time and one of his falls is scouting. As the caster said, he didnt have any ovies in place to scout it before it was too late. Also, he made NO spines. Also, it's TLO, one of the guys that popularized this build. He knowns how to do it better than anyone.

the casters are wrong, no one would ever sac the first overlord at that stage of the game. lings scouting the front has told idra at least 5 or 6 rax is up and timing of push, he saw 5 marines pushing out plus about 4 marines after that initial 5. After that, there is no scouting required because TLO can't afford to do anything else. Spine in Xel'naga is also bad because there are too big entrance to the natural (3 paths). the only mistake is the baneling fail.

Exactly. I'm a Terran player and it always works against fast expo. It also works against roaches with 2 hatch. The best answer to this, if Zerg goes to 2 hatch, is to focus on minerals and create zerglings with spines. It's still hard to make it work, though.

it's a super effective build, and it's totally all-in vs a zerg who isn't going 1 base, much like all of the other terran 1 base plays, which are also considered standard (marauder hellion, blue flame hellion, banshee, marine tank, etc..

Banelings are in fact slightly faster than Marines (even off creep without speed upgrade).

TLO had the Marines split into 2 control groups and shift-queued attack commands on the Banelings(each group enough to 1shot a B-ling), thats why he killed them so fast. Altough I admit he was insanely lucky to kill them without a single loss - that was more luck than anything :P
