this was orignally about marilyn monroe but he rewrote it to cover diana when she died as well. i love this song and play it when somebody i knew died.

Actually, the song is about Marilyn Monroe. Listen to the lyrics. "All the papers had to say was Marilyn was found in the nude". It's a very touching song if you know any of the history of Marilyn Monroe- aside from the perception of her being a whore as the media portrayed her.
