There is a vast difference between the troops and the government. One can support the troops and still realize the truth about the government. As a young man I served 8 years in the Marines including 2 tours in Vietnam and 6 months as a POW. I returned to be spat on and called a baby killer.
I learned first hand how willing the people in government are to shed our blood and treasure for their own personal gain and that of their major contributors. Vietnam, Iraq weren't about protecting the US.

My father served during post-Cold War Germany, Uncle Joe served in Panama, Uncle Terry the Navy. Step grandfather Gary served in Vietnam as a naval electrician. Cousin Talon served in Iraq in the first few years, Army technician. Great grandfather served as Higgins Boat operator during the Pacific Offensives in World War 2, his brother in Europe.
