Why (in your opinion) do you think that we individually suffer amnesia from the collective consciousness, until the moment of death? If we do suffer amnesia, how can so many acknowledge the existence of it? Do you believe we're able to tap into it via methods like meditation? So many of us "feel" alone, when in reality we cannot be! We are all one. Do you think there's purpose behind this feeling of isolation from each other?
@LaurieLglitters "Why (in your opinion) do you think that we individually suffer amnesia from the collective consciousness, until the moment of death?" Existence as isolate consciousness is impossible unless you have limited awareness (amnesia). An all knowing, all seeing entity could not possibly function inside a body. And so, isolate consciousness must be as it is.
@darrylsloan Yes, but why have isolate consciousness at all? And, what dictates the form in which the isolate consciousness will take (man, cat, fish...etc)? "An all knowing, all seeing entity could not possibly function inside a body." Admittedly I haven't done much research on consciousness .. supreme or isolate, but why couldn't it function in a body? Who or what designed the body so that it wouldn't be capable of maintaining collective consciousness? Again, what's the "purpose" of isolation?
This was great thank-you. I look forward to seeing more of your you tube postings. Would it be a fair question to ask that if we are all one awareness do think that it would help to explain some of the mood swings people experience when they are around others who project negativity or when they are in a bad environment that is full of negative thoughts and energy?
Yes, if we are all one conciousness, why should be let one God seperate parts of the conciousness in hell for eternity?? don't we all wanna go and merge with God, but no, God said " I did not give birth to you! "
No offence is intended but can I please just ask you Darryl..
How did you do from this belief that we are all "one" to the "left hand path" which one of it's most fundamental beliefs is that we are individualists and encourages the growth or nourishment of Ego?
@cloudskipa No offence taken. In fact, it is a delightful question, one that deserves a whole video rather than a few words here. So, I've made a note to cover this at some point in the not to distant future. For now, the brief answer is: "one consciousness" and the LHP are compatible, but it takes a little work to see how and why. Stay tuned.
@darrylsloan That's great, I'll look forward to that video. Also bought your book, I find your theories fascinating.
I am 33 years old and at a cornerstone point in my life right now, I am in close contact with Mormon missionaries who have partly converted me. However, your beliefs also ring true to me and I'm really struggling with knowing what I should do. I do believe in God, in a higher force than ourselves but the Mormon link to Freemasonry puts me off among other things.
@cloudskipa Mormonism - I didn't see that one coming. I would be curious about why you feel attracted to it. For me personally, I see no reason to give it the slightest credence. Joseph Smith and his magic glasses, and out pops The Book of Mormon. Anybody could make such a claim and start a movement.
@darrylsloan For me I have had different experience to yourself. I once had a very powerful spiritual journey on Psilcoybin, it showed me that there was a greater force, a loving yet amazingly powerful creator and I am in no question or doubt as to it's validity. I am not personally attracted to the BoM, though the belief of transcending these carnal desires (that you speak of embracing) with the gift of the Holy Spirit does interest me. Call it "intuition" :-)
@cloudskipa "a loving yet amazingly powerful creator and I am in no question or doubt as to it's validity." I have had a deep experience of a similar nature (without drugs), which I describe in a two-part video called "Spiritual experiences as a Christian."
If you see carnality as something that's misfiring about your nature, then you are always going to gravitate to religion of one kind or another. The Fall is the cornerstone of all religion. I see the Fall quite differently now, as you know.
as i watched this video i started coming up with beliefs that i have to comment to add on to what you were saying but as the video went on you explained everything i was going to say, i have come up with these conclusions on my own by just thinking and putting things together as im sure you did too, which is strange that someone in orlando, fl shares almost the same belief as someone in northern ireland, now as strange as this sounds it only proves what we believe i think, it just blew my mind
Ha ha I had the same experiences you had.And one day I stumbled on the Hindu deity Brahman. Now I'm not seriously devoted to Hindu but here is how it goes:
The soul is like water.Brahman is the poll of water from witch all water drops come from and return to.That's just one representation another is that he is the "Great actor" who puts masks and assumes different identities or personalities.
It gets even more complicated because the process continues on lower level.like from gods to humans.
1 being expressing itself in millions of ways to creation the illusion of separation so it can avoid eternal boredom or stillness. this one being is me.
Congratulations. You may be the only one yet, who created completly new religion which might become succesfull. But for now, it all makes sense for me, if you aknowledge the misinterpretation of "body" "mind" and add aditional part of "mind" and call it "soul" or such. What you did, was that you drew something. Then you said it is bad. And drew very same thing in a little diffrent way, and said "That's it" So for me, it's and absurd. Our individuality is unquestionable, and undeniable..
Intuition... That is something we all expirience... Everyone, every day. You may call it instinct.
One Conciousness would mean that we are all self-aware. and self-aware of others, meaning, that you feal the same, know the same etc. So you need to, at least, change terminology.
Matter is not tuned to "conciousness", the other way around. By plain logic.
And at the end, you say that we become this conciousnesss after death. Where have i seen it before?? Ah yes... christianity.
Not really. We can still be one consciousness, but the difference is the level of awareness. The bottom line is this: Explain awareness; the awareness of existence in general. Our brains are a very sophisticated reacting, calculating computer. The question is: Does reacting and calculating information create awareness of existence? Whenever I think about it, it's pretty clear for me, there is an observer of all this; consciousness which is its own substance.
All this process that take place in our brains are the only reason you are aware of yourself. If you would lose you sensation on the day of birth, you probably would not be aware of anything.
"Consiousness" is only evolutionary adventage that we posses over 'non-concious' life forms. It's not special, and we definitly do not share it with other human beings.
We may be aware of others, but only as we are awere of trees and rocks..
Still, if we are 'one conciousness' then it has no meaning for us what so ever, as we do not expirience it in anyway. Where we go after death, has no implications in what we do on earth, that is something I'am sure of.(Afterlife is bullshit anyway)
So this whole concept(quite similar to every stupid religion that was created) is just plainly damn pointless.
If you want to spread love and **** like this, spread love. Don't throw 'paranormal' bullshit in it. It wil make it good for all of us.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
@ringarenpadorren Bill had it so right! i remember the first time i heard him say that and i knew it was true....but i couldn't tell you why.......by not knowing....i somehow know..
The most obvious way I think of oneness is that we all share non-conceptual awareness, humans and animals etc. Maybe that is the singularity? It's funny that I'm thinking about not thinking, remembering what that's about.
Okay i need some help here, IM really interested in learning this one conciousness thing, i dont know were to start tho. What makes you think that all of us are apart of eachother? Im not saying its a bad thing im asking it outta curiousity because this is attracting me, im 15 and poor on vocab so if anyone could comment/message an easy version of this to understand it would be amazing
I started off believing it intuitively, and I noticed how it was affecting my behaviour: I started treating people better. Then, the more I started to understand about consciousness and the nature of reality, the more the jigsaw fell into place.
I feel a connection with everything, conscious and otherwise - Do you think that if you're unaware of a united-consciousness that come 2012 it will be imprinted back into your psyche?
If this is so, will we suddenly feel the pain caused by our years of ignorance that could be catastrophic?
Some people who have explored non-physical much more than ordinary people, say that the circle you have drawn is just one among uncountable number of such (See Robert Monroe, who calls it I-There). These in turn connect to a bigger circle one up in the hierarchy, which is one of many, and so on....
How high this hierarchy of consciousnesses goes ? No one knows.
i wouldnt base it on time sence, everyone have biological clock. i myself most of the time wake up 2-15 min before the clock alarm, and it doesnt mather when i set alarm, if you know when you need to wake up (and hate alarm) then you can easily wake up just before it rings.
from this point of view it would mean that we are one, just our personalities are different, but then why so many ppl have different belief, they sence it is right, arent we mistaken too, how could we claim that this is to be more like true than other belief? Of course its everyone choise what to believe, but i think that everyone cant be right, and they living their lives on wrong belief.
Which also doesnt make sence.
All that looks like a trap, we cant escape even if we know the truth.
This is a good point. I would say this belief is different (for me, anyway) because it's what emerges when you thoroughly question all the beliefs that were contitioned into you - every assumption, right down to the division of mind and consciousness, matter and perception.
Let's remember that most of the belief systems of the world exploit the first seven years of life, where we are basically a sponge soaking up information. The solution is to tear down that foundation and start again.
In the highest truth, everything is true and no two truths are exactly the same. To understand that We Are One, is by understanding that we are Spiritual Beings having Human experiences, through having a physical body as a vessel. The body dies, but our Spirit, our true self does not, it's eternal. A piece of GOD, separates itself by US having different bodies, experiencing opposites, different personalities, etc.
I recommend checking out From Atoms to Cosmos by Itzhak Bentov.
Whoops, I had a dyslexic moment. In my first comment on this video I said you quoted some bible verse from your previous video, something about us being created as animals. I previously read a document about religion & science and these two things got scrambled up in my head. Sorry about that mis quotation, I just noticed today. =P
i have been trying to figure this out myself before, and most things i just "know", like you talked about intuition, but about this, i still cant figure out. For some reason your idea about this, doesnt seem right to me, but also that everyone are seperate, doesnt seems right either. I think there might be 3rd version.
I keep myself open to greater clarity on the topic. At any given moment, all I can do is present what makes the most sense to me, with whatever level of understanding I possess. Developing insight often means the reassesssment of what we currently hold.
What type of person am I? One who believes in harmonising reason and intuition, allowing the two to keep each other on track.
I think that when I die I will experience a greater awareness of the vast being (one consciousness) that I am. But of course, I am that one consciousness right now - only I'm experiencing "being human," which is an experience of limitation of awareness ... if that makes sense.
I have more to add on this, probably in the next video. And the view that eternity is "a single moment of infinite awareness" adds a whole deeper perspective to the afterlife question, which I'll come to. Stay tuned. :-)
It's been a bit over a year now since I've "awaken" and have had an impulsed to seek answers in this field. I was able to come across a video called, From Atoms to Cosmos by Itzhak Bentov. I highly suggest you check out this video, he explained his thoughts on consciousness and how we are evolving.
As in your other video when you described God creating earth, you quoted that God said let us make man in our image, the physical form being from the animals, and the soul be in image of Himself. If God created the soul, or consciousness as you describe it in this video, then it is separate from Himself. This is an interesting viewpoint though, nice illustration too.
What we think of as creation is not literal creation. There is only consciousness undergoing experience. This is how creator and creation are one and the same.
Each one of us is the fullness of Infinite Consciousness (or God) held in a state of finite awareness of our magnitude.
Hi Darryl, thanks for the video. I love chalk n talk. Ponder this. We talk about consciousness and intuition but virtually all of my research suggests intuition and especially psi is instigated by the unconscious mind (sometimes called subconscious). Most of what we do is really under unconscious control. Some would say we constantly battle between the two. I find this dualistic relationship really interesting - what are your views? PS when will the book be out?
The subconscious is a fabulous thing to research. I tend to think it is the Western equivalient of what Eastern thinking calls the Higher Self, or at least that there is a great deal of overlap between the two concepts. I wrote an article on my blog some time ago called "The amazing unconscious."
Thanks for asking about the book. There's a chapter in it called "Reconnect Your Intuition" in which I talk at length about the subconscious.
The proof copy is supposed to arrive tomorrow! Can't wait.
So, are you saying that there are actually two, somewhat parallel things going on... 1. a mind-based illusion of what we percieve as reality and 2. a soul-based singularity? I just had this thought.... what if, just like our dreams are an illusion of the mind, what we percieve as reality is an illusion of the soul.
That's something along the lines of how I think, yeah.
We tend to assume that physics is the prime reality, because we have such a rich sensory experience of it, but when you probe deeper you see that it's not the prime reality.
Thats really interesting ive had weird experiences where as soon as i'd think of a song, and id be with a friend they would start singing that song out loud as i was thinking it, perhaps thats based on this idea of 1 consciousness
Telepathy points very strongly to the "one consciousness". Upton Sinclair, in his book Mental Radio, put it this way: "There is a substratum of mind interlinking our individual minds and which we can learn to tap."
I'm thinking I missed the entire point of your video, but often when I'm in deep thought or I'm just really concentrating hard on something, I notice that I kind of slip into other people's thoughts, and sometimes they notice what I'm thinking, like for instance I'm concentrating really hard on pizza, and all of a sudden 3 random people say something about pizza, I would say that it's coincidence but it happens most all the time when I'm deep in thought. I find it interesting personally.
The video is really just an introduction to a vastly view of life from the norm. I've condensed a great deal of thought into a tiny 11 mins, so all I'm aiming for here is that people will allow the ideas to roll around a little in their heads and see what happens. That's how it began for me.
I generally believed in the idea that "everything is everything" ... but you presented that to me in a whole new light, it's not making perfect sense, but I understand it somewhat.
Hmm... I'd say that the "one consciousness" you describe is without a doubt what links everything together, and we are all each other, everything is everything. That makes 100% SENSE to me. So we are essentially, God, we, as the one consciousness, control the universe, there can't have been anything before this,
like the conventional God described in Christianity. Christianity's God is separate from the one consciousness and supposedly created the universe that included the one consciousness? Hell to the no, thats impossible. "Nothing" existed before everything - that God does not exist.

What does it mean to be on the WE collective consciousness?
WE Party Peace Ambassadors are about helping and inspiring others primarily online. Peace Ambassadors promote doing what's considered right.
Examples
When a person is on the WE consciousness, they only look at what is right, with the world and the people in it.
If a person has 99 bad qualities and one good quality, the only part of that person that is looked at is their one good quality.

Peace

As in your other video when you described God creating earth, you quoted that God said let us make man in our image, the physical form being from the animals, and the soul be in image of Himself. If God created the soul, or consciousness as you describe it in this video, then it is separate from Himself. This is an interesting viewpoint though, nice illustration too.

What we think of as creation is not literal creation. There is only consciousness undergoing experience. This is how creator and creation are one and the same.
Each one of us is the fullness of Infinite Consciousness (or God) held in a state of finite awareness of our magnitude.
Deep stuff. Requires much thought.

Ah I see, this makes sense. Thanks.

Sometimes when I talking I'll say something I have no idea about, and then when I look it up its always true

Great drawing that explains it! Thank you.
