@loveutoto I used to imagine that too. I even wrote a story for school one time about a letter Q and letter U who fell in love (since almost every "q" word requires a "u"). In one part of my story I wrote "And so the q grew up to be a Q", refering to the q going from lowercase to capital. ;)
Wow, this is the first "sand letters" clip I've seen here; you've proved that even a 13-second spot on TV can trigger a lot of memories. Four stars...and keep 'em coming whenever you can, please!
This is the "colorized" version that came along in the 1990s. The original segments had black letters on a simple, solid (not mottled like here) coloured background, in one of the "basic" video colours: blue, green, or magenta. Based on the look of the animation, I think it was done using sand on a clear glass pane.

I loved the adult and kid voices in these clips. I also liked imagining that the lowercase letters would grow up to be capital letters!
