  • check out my Pages and ios 5 tutorial videos...They contain excellent tips and tricks on how to use the software and pplication

  • I'd be really grateful if anybody could please answer this question; my Mac has died on me, and I need a new computer for just for browsing the web and email, and writing a Masters thesis (so I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on a MacBook). Does anybody think it's possible to write a 15,000-20,000 word thesis on an iPad, using Pages and a Bluetooth keyboard? I know it's would be harder than using a full-screen Mac, but is it possible? Thanks a lot for any advice...

  • @glittershinesonme When you sync to iTunes, you can download files from Pages in the Applications tab. You can then print it or do whatever you'd like with it. You can also use AirPrint from within pages on the iPad.

  • @TheAppstorekid Thanks for the info! =)

  • @glittershinesonme or u can buy a printer thats compatiable with airprint and print wirelessy from ur ipad but u have to go to itunes and get the update 4.3 and buy a airprint printer.

  • @glittershinesonme You can sync with iTunes, and in the applications tab at the bottom of the page, there's an import screen where you can download created files. This app can also be used with AirPrint.

  • so to export you dont have to have an iwork.com account? you can just take it off the ipad the next time you connect it to itunes?

  • @WiiGamePlayer You do not have to have an iWork.com account to transfer files. Although it is very easy with iWork.com, you can export through iTunes. The only thing you have to do is hit the export button at the bottom of the main page and select a file format. Then, go to the apps page in iTunes and it will be there at the bottom.

  • Hey I'm currently finishing yr11, in uk, do you think the iwork is good enough for my education. I'm looking for a cheap laptop till university to use and I realy like the ipad, but my parents say it needs to be good enough for my education. I'm taking maths, biology and chemistry. Please help as I don't want to buy a ipad that is useless for my education, and use my old pc, and I won't buy a laptop since university.

  • @dragonslug93 Hey. Glad you're considering iPad for your next computer. It depends on what you're really going to be doing. You DO need to have a computer to sync it to, so it's not completely a standalone product. For features, if you're going to be taking notes in class or typing out papers, this is a great, lightweight option. Plus, you can connect a bluetooth keyboard in case you're writing a novel. The word processing application shown in this video is quite full featured. Hope this helps!

  • @TheAppstorekid Thanks for the reply. In the end I am going to buy a iPad, as pages seems good enough to write reports when you have a bluetooth keyboard. Thanks for the video.

  • At exactly 2:40 I was sold . . . (Haha, I'm such a sucker!)

  • @pdaly83 Hey. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. There is no way to print directly from pages, but I'm sure there's a 3rd party app that can do it.

  • Hey, thanks man. Can you print directly from the iPad using pages? To a wireless printer for example. Cheers!

  • if i saved a file from iWork, can i open it again in microsoft word???

  • @sgtshendou Yes you can. When you go to export your document on the main screen, you can select to export as a .doc file. After you do that, you can dock your iPad and go to the apps menu and go to the bottom of the page, you can then import the .doc file from your device. Hope this helps! Give me a buzz if something goes wrong.
