  • Hey people! Throw away your fucking communism, liberalism and other 'ism. Love MUSIC and best singers of the world! Welcome to Moscow!!!

  • @kampfkatzeRU Sure, tovarishch! :)

  • BRAK SŁÓW UZNANIA DLA ---DZIEŁO...

  • Who can not love Rusia? Who can not love Dostoievsky? Who can not love Comunism?

  • @gasare55 well, with respect, I do not love communism, but even less I do love false liberalism

  • @gasare55 Which fucking relationship is between Dostoievsky, or "Moscow Lights" or Hvorostovsky and Communism? Can we let alone music from politics, at least for one time? :S

  • Love this song

  • Lov this song. Lov moscow and petersburg, love Russia

  • Love the singer, fabulous voice

  • One of the greatest baritones ever!!!

    With love from Georgia!

  • Great music!!!!!:)))

  • Most romantic song I've ever hear, I won the heart of my girlfriend by singing this song to her. Learned it in, yes indeed, in Moscow. Greetings from Holland to all my Russian comrads!

  • Impressive, awesome, touching!

  • I think he is the younger brother of Arnold Svartznegger, though they wer born in two different countries, you know, "the Cold War" and all

  • @RasMajnouni ---------- YES! Dmitri Hvorostovsky DOES resemble our outgoing GOVERNATOR, Arnold ..... They should do a film together........ something along the lines of "The Corsican Brothers" .......

  • @Karen41872 Alright!! I was just going to listen to it now, but I checked the comment replies! Thanks

  • I just love thissong, reminds me of the time I lived in Moscow.

You feel the Russian soul in this song

  • Undoubtedly one of the best if not the best version of this song that I have heard.

I admit that I am totally unable to understand a word that is sung but that does not detract from my enjoyment.

  • just been to heaven and met an angel!

  • OMG what a voice!!!!

  • Waters flowing or not flowing,

Made of lunar silver, the river runs,

There's sound of song, or there is no sound,

In the quiet nights all are at once

  • Why, o darling mine, shy and quick is your glance?

Bowing low your head, you look apart?

So hard for me not tell at once,

Or express everything in my heart.

  • And the morning yet is getting close an now,

And, my darling, please, be so kind,

Ever not forget all these summer nights,

    Those suburban Moscow Nights.

  • No rustlings heard in the garden deep,

Till the dawn everythings so quiet,

If you only knew how dear to me,

    All these Moscow suburban Nights.

  • Not only is it one of the lovliest songs ever written, it has one of the great singers of our time selling to a rapt audience....WOW!

  • Dmitrin tulkinnat ovat upeita. Ehdottomasti maailman parhaimpia laulajia!

  • what does the lyric mean?

  • well, something like that =)

In the garden rustles are not even heard.

All has died away till the morn.

If you only knew how dear for me

    These nights near Moscow.

    River's moving and not moving

From the silver moon it is made.

Song is being heard and not being heard

In this still and serene night.

  • Why, you, darling, look so askance,

    Bending pretty head so low.

It is hard to tell and not express

That is hidden in heart below.

But the dawn's more and more noticable.

    So, darling, please, being kind,

Don't forget I ask this warm and still

    Near Moscow summer night.

    =)

  • Dimitri ,youre the best,I love you and your beautiful voice!

    Larissa

  • A glories Song of the Communist ages!

  • well actually its singing about moscow.. but sure you can be an ignorant American and think that... i bet a nickle and a dime you dont understand half the shit you boast about

  • Well you see I was born in Soviet Union, And this song was widely used in soviet times , and the song was written by soviet poet in 1955. thus being a song in the Soviet Union

    originally called Leningrad Nights

So whos the ignorant american now?

  • Very Nice Sounds. Very Nice Chorus. It Represents Very Well The Pictures Of Moscow By Nights! Thank You Very Much, Dmitri, Chorus And Apomethe For Your Very Preciously Hilarious Presentation

  • No offense alright, but whenever I listen to this rendition of Padmoskovnaya Vichera, I always thought Hvorostovsky was a chubby kind of guy. But that didnt seem to be the case. hehehe. But as always, a wonderful song. Bravo Dmitri! Bravo!

  • This song draws me to a place near the river at night, being with a russina girl and giving my love to her all night long...

  • Beautiful song.Thaknks

  • Russian must be happy bcz they can have the same feeling by these beautiful songs.

  • No we are not northern barbarians, the Rus were swedes, but they quickly assimilated to the slavs around them, grand prince vladimir was only a quarter norse, we are slavs, best spirit in the world

  • Could you say that russians are semi-nordic?

    Are they near to jews?Thanks.

  • I find this song very sad ,I always remember it when its raining in my city or when I see poor old people whit their faces looking in the groud, thinking will they have anything to eat.

  • Russians are northern barbarians, aren't they?

How come such a beautiful melody comes from Russian soul? Because I think their soul is more pure and cultivated than Anglo-Saxons.

  • sure....northern barbarians......except we come from the slaves not anglo saxons .....so ignorant its not even funny

  • Soglasen.

  • magneto was polish. not german

  • me gusta como canta

  • stayed in a hotel in fla. every nite i thought of this song. was belle hotel

  • fav'ed

    nuff said

  • What a voice! Tears just spontaneously burst out listening to someone like this. He is able to share the Russian soul in such a way that one really starts to love Russia and its people!

  • Wow... We recently learned this song in my Russian class and.. Wow.. Hvorostovsky is just.. Wow.

  • magnificent voice, absolutely, and I love this song!

btw...this guy looks just like magneto from x-men! haha

  • the man is an angel....the song is so heartwarming and so true to the soul of a magnificent country!

the only other singer that i can imagine having as much soul in their voice is tina turner (sounds nutty, but i mean it)...to be able to put a part of oneself into every melody and lyric one sings proves that humans are capable of great things....proves that singing is the height of artistic expression. hvorostovsy is proof of that.

  • beautiful!!

    :.)

  • OTLICHNA!!!

  • Great Voice!

  • Deep soul of Russia! Very nice! Very true!

  • wonderful.the deep soul of russia in his voice.

  • bravo

  • i am italian, but i should say that many of the gratest classical dancers, music compositors and stuff are al from Russia. ia liublio rossiu...

  • Ne slyshny v sadu dazhe shorokhi, Vsyo zdes' zamerlo do utra. Esli b znali vy, kak mne dorogi Podmoskovnye vechera. Esli b znali vy, kak mne dorogi Podmoskovnye vechera. A rassvet uzhe vsyo zametnee. Tak, pozhaluysta, bud' dobra. Ne zabud' i ty eti letnie Podmoskovnye vechera. Ne zabud' i ty eti letnie Podmoskovnye vechera.
  • the best basses on question are from russia, there are many great tenors not with the same sound as the westerners such as pavoratti but great none the less, and now the best baritones as well!!!

  • ...also Hvorostovsky really is a great bariton with a fantastic voice. But again is a bariton not a tenor so the comparaison with Pavarotti daesn't really stand!

  • May I also suggest you look the video "Luciano Pavarotti & Dmitri Hvorostovsky!! !" in order to understand how the two complement each other singing together in this performance.

  • Ya Ahmaad Aashi Pasha! What does this all mean, in English or Arabic? Very beautiful. Many thanks. From STEVE in IRKUTSK

  • I love you Dima!

  • I'm italian, I live in London UK and ...I'm gay. My partner is Russian and since I know him I'm slowly falling in love with Russia. It is time to stop all the fighting, as someone else already said, we are all brothers! No matther where you're from, the color of your skin or the language you speak. Inside we are all the same, red blood, one heart...let's use it ..positively.

  • lets not, Russia is the greatest country in the world with the best singers

  • I'm not saying that Italy is or England is, or Germany or France...every country has something different to offer, but when you say that Russia is the greatest country (and I don't think you mean geographically) in the world, well, then I suspect you've never been anywhere else. Going back to music, his surname was Pavarotti, not pavoratti and if the world declared him one of the greatest tenors in the world, it must be a reason...

  • no, it was just he had the money to advertize himself well. in fact I have been all over the world, but Russia is really different: it is a place of magic, where you can feel God himself as close aas you can. I am not Russian, but Hungarian (it is totally different a nation and culture) but I really felt that Heaven is nearish... and russians feel this nearness, and try to declare it for anyone on the world. it doesn't mean they are supermen, just transcendent. this is what pavelkostov meant.

  • why we can feel God in Russia?

  • Good question! Read Dostoevsky and you may understand why.

  • so you like it.good to know seeing that hungary and russia hadn't had the best of relations especially in 1956.

  • thankyou so much, i love this song and i love his charming bariton Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

  • Piekna melodia!

  • I love Russian culture, its countless distinguished musicians, artists, and writers, etc.

Dmitri must be good as he is so renouned these days, but, for me, he sucks. I simply don't like his voice and his way of singing.

No hard feelings for Dmitri's fans though.

  • Pozdrav ruskoj braci iz Srbije.

  • Each and everyone Russian knows this song.

The quality isn't really good, I still gave 5 stars.

  • ICBM nights!

  • I have been in Russia and I love it.... and Hvorostovsky is the best!!! I love this song and how he sings Toreador :)

can everybody tell me the name of this song?

    spasibo!!

  • The title of this song is "Podmoskovnye vechera"

I am not russian so lets hope that i spelled it correctly :)

  • I think you did, my mother is Polish so I speak Polish.

If Russian is anything like Polish, (it is)

it means evenings under Moscow. (it looses some poetical meaning when translated.) XD

  • One of my grand-grandfathers was a tzar's Rossija soldier... 2 years of his duty & next 2 years more, because he wanted to stay... May be, he's genes are a reason that i feel Polish but i love Russian culture... Or may be because in my home town a monument for all poor & young soviet soldiers who died fighting nazi pestilence is still staying...

  • You do know, that the Red army worked with the nazis in order to invade Poland, how can you say that! Unfortunately I also love russia as I love any other "slavic" country. XD

  • Of course, i know it all... It's sad that slavic nations can not be REAL brother nations (not only in words like in old soviet propaganda from 50-60's)...

  • I think that we can all be friends, but dont be angry at the nazis when you are not mad with the communist. XD

    Pozdrawiam bracie!

  • Mmm...! Please, let me thank You for the last words (in Polish!) in Your last message...!

Thank You, brother, and i'm sorry, i didn't answer You in Your language ;(

  • Its alright!

We are all brothers, wether we like it or not! XD

    POLAKOWI ZAWSZE POLAK BRATEM!

  • Polak?! To dlaczego po angielsku do mnie piszesz ;P ?! A co do "We are all brothers, wether we like it or not!", so i agree!!!!!!

  • I think, that its only polite to write in English, so that no one is being "left out". ;)

  • I admire you guys. Here in canada, people are too different... and dispite the fact there is a lot of bloody history, I wish I was born anywhere near you guys.

  • Thanks!

Although you shouldnt admire us but our leaders. About that bloody history. It isnt our fault, we rarely begun a war. It was all motivated by jealousy from other less developed countries.

PS. You are, what you feel like. XD

  • I do think your leaders are, for msot of them, great... it is hard to admire them, for the media isn't showing us their good side. Only what they want us to see.

For exemple, I've read about Vladimir Putin over the internet. I see people who are saying very good things about him. But here, people speak bad of him. He does seem like a very good leader for Russia. But I can't base this on anything, because I can't tell who is telling the truth, who isn't.

  • I completely understand your reasoning, but remember, the truth is based on facts, and I dont recall him doing anything bad against or with Russia. XD

  • Hmm... thank you. This is something I had forgotten.

  • I seem to recall a quote from a movie...hmmm...what was it...something about democracy dying to a thundering applause.

  • What are you implying!?

  • vadem.. you are an ignoran fatass quoting Starwars... the fact that russia didnt have a democracy untill around 1990 doesnt bother you? haha your a fool, this quote applys directly to this 08 09 election when amaricans elected obama, you think he wolnt instaul a sociallist comand economy rejeam? LOOK OVER HIS POLICIES?!?! or on the other hand go wach porn like you have been doing for the past 9 moths and feel ignorant, ppl like you should be nuderd so they dont pass stupid to there children

  • You know, I remember thinking to myself when I took an IQ test in early highschool and scored a 172, that it just couldn't be possible that the IQ of the average human was only 100. Maybe, if I had known someone like you at the time, I wouldn't have felt so sceptical...

And btw, I'm not American, you fucking idiot.

  • haha sure ive read that insult on so many forums its not even funny, i could never belive that you scored a 172 coming from the person that implyed that russia had a democrosy b4 1990...

btw the word amarican has grown far beyond the meaning of coming from amarica.. i use it to simply stait that your a fucking moron

  • I never said Russia had a democracy before 1990. I was referring to the lack of democracy of modern day Russia. Anyway, I derive no satisfaction from talking to you. It's obnoxious to read your messages because you speak the language so poorly, and your out-of-context, irrational babble is frustrating to deal with. You don't seem to have any real knowledge of US politics, and your strategy is limited to hurling nonsensical, impotent insults at people you know nothing about.

  • yes you never said it you only empyed it and the fact that you cant find anything else to poke fun at other then my spelling really shows how pathetic you are... if i said half of what you seem like.. well lets say id have to write a couple of books to describe the fact that your a douche commenting on politics in a country you have never been to much less read about, and US politics, surly you know more about it since you boast about it with your ...strategy? and yeah thats about it im here...

  • to hurl *babble* upon your ignorant remarks of which you haven't the faintest idea

  • STFU. get out

  • is from the bloody history that we are trying to learn the mistakes and live together.. hopefully in armony.

  • The name is on top,

    Moscow Nights

I Think, but I'm not sure

    ^^

  • NOSTASLGIA! I was living there in 2003! I miss it!
