  • So John will die of starvation trying to type in the street name but not whilst trying to figure out where within 1000m he is!?

  • 'my location is not supported on all devices... you might got the error messages.'

at that time maybe john will faint in starvation :P

  • When i grow up im gonna make my version of that. It dont just show your location, it is connected to a big laser-gun in space that will fire on you. Its great!!

  • excellent feature! won't work everywhere tho, not until Google really puts the world on their map:p

  • your current location is temporarily unavailable :(

  • The Magic Phone is coming to life before our very own eyes! :)

    Tower Triangulation...it's a good thing!

  • This is very nice Most win mobile phones dont have GPS so this little treat is tight

  • Google should post a list of phones that support this so that I can go get me one :)

  • Whatever phones that can access the internet and allows you to type in web addresses should work.

  • intresting... but doesn't this mean that when you use this service its like calling? so it cost money that way?

  • If you access the internet with your phone, most of the time the phone is on an unlimited internet access plan.

  • aha ^^ so most of the time, its free.

  • john is a fag

  • You're just jealous that he can use My Location on his phone and you can't.

  • Of course my phone dosent support it but w.e. Have fun ppl who can use it

  • Is it free?

  • R U RETARDED?

  • Are you?

  • o.o

    XDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    cute!

  • so does this mean that google would be aware of where all of it's users are at any given time? big brother? anyways just a thing to think about.

  • let me guess...you didnt watch it to the end?

  • lol nope

  • yea i watched it to the end now. i dont know dont you think theres some hidden strings there about them knowing something? if they wanted to they could identify who you are and phone number and such if they could link the particular device to the account?

  • they could but why would they?

  • not sure, but just saying that they could

  • its true every one is just lazy...

and us is full of fat people that cant go 1 fucking week witch out going to mcdonalds

  • so fucking lazy everyone so fucking lazy

  • true man

  • watched it and I'm not addicted. I'm appauled

  • get a taxi? or ask some one on the street insted of through your phone?

  • Google have got it all wrong.

If you want curry, you need to go to Bradford.

  • LMAO

  • dont believe it myself.. there have been too many scams pretending to be google, for example google tv beta, thousands of people signed up to google and were let down. i swear this is an infringment of rights if it is true anyway..

  • This location information has been available for an awfully long time.

God forbid anybody try to use it to help you find a chinese restaurant or mailbox.

How is asking for directions through your wireless phone is an infringement of your rights? Jackass.

  • nah sorry mate i just meant the whole knowing where you are all the time kind of big brother esc kind of thing. and knowing where someone is 24/7 is an infringment of their privacy you must admit..

  • well what you say is true, halcooper, but im sure google wont know where we are, and im sure they dont even care. the same way, we could say that companies like Verizon know where we live and where we go and everything. IM sure they wouldnt care

  • halcooper you must be really stupid.. seriously. are you that DUMB to think that youtube fuckin featured a fake google account's video?????????????????????????? GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh sorry i wasnt aware that you hadnt known about the huge scam involving a man pretending to know about something called google tv. get your fucking facts right before you slag someone off THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS BEEN DONE

  • that's scary...

  • I developed a similar software in a college project three years ago... ;) maybe i should ask google for some money because they took our idea.. ?? its working with j2me which has got an locating-service-classes.

  • Yeah, because "getting directions" is a new idea.

  • It's not working on Windows Smart Phones in Washington D.C.

  • this is so scary. google does know where u are. and they can now know where u plan to go because u just told them... *sigh*

  • Now if we could only figure out how Google is going to monetize your uncle getting directions to your house the next holiday...

  • google needs power regulation....like checks and balances oR THEY WILL KILL US ALL

  • Google to be the next president. :0

  • Google to replace God :D

    GIOG!

  • Just take your medication and all will be fine.

  • Bayta? isn't it beeetaaa?

  • It is "bayta", you stupid Brit. Why dont you Brits learn to speak proper English? Or do we have to send in the Marines to teach you a lesson?

  • Big Brother is here. Welcome to 1984.

  • i like this ad.

  • I want Google's babies. What a novel idea for a presentation

  • Wow. Works great in USA and Canada without a GPS on my Blackberry 8700. Says my location is accurate to 1100m (3600 feet) -- not bad. This is close enough to then hit "Search hotel" and get nine local hotels.

  • I LOVE GOOGLE O_O" 5/5

  • Is work in the USA?

  • Yes to Canada and USA.

  • iPhone Support needed!

  • not everyone has an iphone. ALL PHONE SUPPORT!!!

  • Does it work on a PSP?

  • No it wouldent.

The psp uses wifi to get an internet connection where as mobiles use the mobile phone network [3g].

If i understand correctly it should really be able to work on anything that uses the mobile phone network

  • No it wouldn't.

Google is using the location of the mobile phone masts and the area that they cover to give you an estimated location.

The psp uses an wifi internet connection and as such has nothing to do with the mobile network and as such wouldent be able to pin point your location.

  • doh!

    damn you broken comment thing

  • how does it work on the iPhone?

  • wow that kick ass!!

  • If you can't type an address into a phone, than you shouldn't be alive.

  • it works ok!

  • It's good if you get kidnapped. thats about it.

  • thats neat!

  • dats pretty smart

  • neato-blamo!

  • Nice!

  • this is fucking brilliant and works like a charm on my phone.. :-)

  • Doesn't for me, though (Provider o2 in Germany, on a SE W880i) - says something like "temporarily not possible to locate your position".

I like how the video is made - with paper moved around, instead of computer generated graphics. Neat! So old school :)

  • yeah paper better then computerized graphic fuck!!!

+ sorry that you can't use it in your location...:(

  • It's Beta for the United Kingdom; specifically the British Isles? :-)

It might be a technical and logistical territorial issue? Whatever it is, hopefully it'll succeed and go full scale. Finding a way to do something by using something already there at no additional cost is an elegant solution that's always Good.

  • interesting...

  • cool

  • awsome

    RgB

  • cool

  • chicken tikka masala :droool:

  • xD what is that anyway?

  • very nice!!!

  • Nice technology.
