Are you stupid or what? This is a car from European division. Ford America has nothing to do with it. Ford Europe designs, engineers makes cars purely in Europe. You won't find a single American part in it.
Knowing Ford they'll make it just as fun as the fiesta's were . Just hope the RS version will also be in production! PLS Ford give us some good Performance Mini's !

unfortunatly is a bad copy of many things the rear side looks like a mzada cx 7, the dront looks like a peugot, with the headlights of the puegeot 407 and it has kind of the grill from an aston martin, the sides are preaty same to the seat leon, and the stereo its the exact copy of the nokia cellphone
if you take a criticism like this, then all cars look the same. how can a small car resemble an aston martin? this is a beatiful concept that i hope ford introduces to america with a line of small cars like the fiesta, focus from europe and some hybrid versions as well.
i can see a hint of aston martin design in the grill and headlights (resembles that of the DB9's). but you have to realize that ford owns aston martin so they might be using the same designers across the board.

I think this is a very well done Ford design. I hope that Dearborn can swallow their pride and let the European model come to the US intact. Too often the design has ended up being altered completely (1981 Escort), cheapened (2000 Focus), saddled with a strange name (Merkur), or just plain sent in the wrong direction (2005 Focus). It would be nice if Ford would couple this design with something truly innovative and green under the hood.
I have a "deja-vu" feeling about this car. The windows are looking like Seat Leon's, the lights like Peugeout, the front like the new Ford Mondeo. It's a cool combination but I think they forgot the visibility which was very good for the old Ford Fiesta. The driver could see every angle of the car.
OMG!! That's one BUTT-UGLY little car! I live in Chicago and have given up on Detroit. As a devout coupe driver, the domestic offerings are fewer and farther between each year. In 2005, I finally found the perfect car for me, a Scion tC. 2 doors, a full hatchback, loaded and AFFORDABLE. The '05 was such a hoot to drive, I ran out the lease mileage and I'm now in an '07. IF Ford brings the Verve to the US, I'm certain it'll be available ONLY as a 4 door.
Who cares!!? Well, EXCUSE me, I DO. You like this butt ugly Ford. Fine. I wasn't out to offer a personal insult with MY post, I was offering MY opinion based on ownership of an awesome car. Thank you very much and have a great day.
Great economy car with a decent design. It sure gets me how we let so many people who live in America bash native American companies such as Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and etc. they way they do. They all need to leave the US and move to Japan where they can drive rice all day long. They will find once they get there that most rich Japanese want to buy American.
I agree with RobS. Americans are giving away their own industrial and economic strength by not buying Ford, GM, Chrysler. The Implants do in America only what they can do extremely profitably, import the rest, then send the profits back home -- OUT of our economy. The economy is all about AMERICAN jobs & Implants don't hire enough here! It's not about quality or productivity differences; they don't exist. Wake Up America, every Toyota, Honda, Kia, etc, even built here, is BAD for America!!
I can't decide which is worse...your taste in cars or your ignorance of economics...comments like yours are proof that the American education system is failing to educate people...protectionism is a great policy...Be American, Buy American...that worked out just peachy during the Great Depression didn't it?
You need global upgrading. This is not protectionism, it is global economic war. I was an early global free economist, believing in free markets. What has happened is Asia & India compete as nations and America competes as individual companies against the Japan machine, China machine, India machine. Monetary policy is used against us & Americans don't care what buying a Toyota does to hurt our economy. For our own sake we Americans must fight for America & maximize American economic impact.
Global trade is a two way street...many countries complain about the anticompetitive policies that US government often arbitrarily put in place...the rules of economics don't change simply because more competitors enter the market...it just increases competition...which in the long run is good for American consumers and business...would you prefer to work in a textile mill in Asia for 10 cents a day?

That's the point you pillock - it's not supposed to perform. It's supposed to be a nice little well equipped economical car for zipping around without thinking twice about fuel costs, insurance costs or finding somewhere big enough to park.
People in Europe must have much larger dicks than you or something - because over here it's OK to have a small car. Over here everyone ISN'T out to out-do each other with size or noise. Over here we drive around towns, cities and country roads with lots of corners. We park the car and enjoy eating in top quality restaurants. It's a cultural difference - we have some...

wait. just had the third front end installed. third rack and pinion. wtf?? i'm gonna burn it before the warrnty period is up. of course, it's a ford, maybe it'll set itself on fire.
Ford. You guys really need to bring these exciting looking vehicles to the market ASAP! Also, learn from Mazda how to make the suspension better. You best things you have done so far is that you guys have bought Mazda. Now, designs of Fords are also seem to be heading the right direction. Keep it up, with competitive pricing, should have a group of Ford fans, although I am not one currently.
Don't let Kia, and chinese car companies catch you up before it is too late!
The engine compartment is smaller than a shoebox...probably a 0.5 liter motor...and I bet some dumb punk is gonna think this is a racecar and put even more gawdy and tastless rice burner crap on this egg of a car in an attempt to make it look intimidating...what a joke!
What's the gas mileage. I guess any new car concept based on economical design should have the gas mileage as its focal point. I believe if just four whells on a wooden tomato box that gets 80 miles per gallon and can carry two people in a safe maaner, then you have buyers will take the door down to buy it. That's all.
wow, thats nasty, i think they should just make gt40's more affordable and call it a day,but i think it looks more like a jap car than american, european styled thoe? it probbably wont sell and the ones that do are gonna be riced out, the Fast and Furious era is over
Nice little ride. Edgy looking, inside and out. And a WAY nicer looking than ANYTHING Toyota has ever made. Toyota = boring style. And my stupid Toyota ISN'T reliable like they say. Don't buy into the jap hype!
I think it is a nice lookin little car! Id want it! Ive had a ford car for 10 years now and it has been the best car i've ever owned. reminds me of an evil rollerskate. lol! too cute! I give it 4 thumbs up!!
These designers are full of such wonderfull BULL!! Emotional? Ha ha ha!! It's a small hatch back. It's ugly (Is vomiting an emotion?). A Ferrari/Lotus/Lamborghini is something to be emotional about, but not this rubbish.
This is the ford VERVE true emotion, the angry eye chicken cheese grin! Bwah HA HAH. PLEASE BUY ME I'M HIGH MAINTANCE FIX ME! FIX ME! I'M STILL SMILING-ANGRY-ANGRY!!!!
Wow.. very nice car.. design is not as important as the reliability.. People now buy cars which they know will last a long time and won't have mechanical/ electrical problems. That's why European/ Domestic vehicles are selling less than the Japanese vehicles that last a long time.
lookings like a rip off of chryslers sebring/ stratus cars... Ford just shrank the car even more.. look at the damn badge on the front grill... looks alot like chryslers
No matter what western car companies (ford, dodge) try to do they will never be able to create quality and durability in car models/designs such as the quick and innovative designs of lets say the japanese and some european car co.'s... they will never catch or keep up for that matter.
Actually, the U.S. *was* an innovative powerhouse throughout the 50s 60s and early 70s. If we are no longer, thank the EPA, Ralph Nader and all the nerds who grew up and pussified everything "for our safety".
Learn to work on your own car; cut it, chop it and make it your own.
To state that the american auto industry was an innovative powerhouse throughout the 50s, 60s and early 70s, as "prismacolor28" does, is utter rubbish. Granted the american industry influated styling in Europe during the 50´s and early 60´s, but has NEVER an innovative force on the technical side of the business.
The Japanese have a design philosophy that equate the front of a car to face. A happy fad with upturned mouth, I used to be dismisive of it, but looking at this car, I now see what they mean. I do not like the "face" on this car, it looks mean. yikes!
its true, if ya played certin video games ya see the difference, car buff style. but for every happy face theres an equal and oppisite angry face! hahahahha
the happry face is great, i agree. but an agressive face in an agressive world is a good touch. ya'kno what im saying?
nice interior..ford seems to lean towards the euorpean designers when it comes to their compact mid size cars...the only american looking thing out of their fleet are their trucks (besides the gt40 and mustang)...not a bad thing...but not a good thing when trying to keep that "All-American" image...
Looks awesome, I really hope they put this into production. Hopefully they're smart enough to put in some engines with fantastic potential, but with the current three offerings, I'm sure something will be good (^_^)
I am really hoping that ford has this car come out on the market very soon. All of fords cars have looked out dated even when they were new. This one actually looks like a modern car. Probably the best looking car ford has ever made.
The only problem with Ford is it's lack of fuel economy. If Ford just put more resources into fuel economy, more people would buy their cars. Ford concentrates on truck and SUV sales, but the market isn't there. The market is on fuel efficient cars, not gas guzzlers.
Ford, are you serious? It looks like a caricature of an Aston with the ass of a Pontiac Aztec. And if I'm not mistaken isn't Ford an American auto manufacturer? Why does every person in their promo video have an accent? Am I supposed to think "Ahh, European car manufacturers are ahead of the curve and listen, these people have accents of European origin...Ford must make a good car now!". Too contrived.
Like every smart American company Ford stopped employing Americans a long time ago. They want hard-working, imaginative and well educated employees. Not very easy to find in the Midwest of the U.S.
You got that right. Still much better than a Dodge, at least Fords will start. They need to fire all the union losers. They have driven too much industry out of the USA. I wish Toyota would put a diesel in the new Tundra so I can buy one and have an excuse to make biodiesel.
the interior is awesome, and i really like the lack of a prominent b-pillar. this wouldn't sell in the u.s., and thats too bad. Why Ford feels us Americans need the crown vic, the fusion, the 500, and now another taurus (WTF?) is beyond me. As if all we buy are heavy sedans. We. are. Retarded.
The fact that there are lot of Americans who realize that a lot of other Americans are retarded is a good thing. Means that not ALL of them are stupid (usually the ones who don't drive a GM car).
Yes it's Marketting BS but a bland Eurobox? As opposed to an inefficient American gas guzzler designed to pander to the US consumer with size issues and no idea how much driving a wasteful car costs them?
Let's hope it doesn't sell in the America the more retarded American consumers want big inefficient cars the sooner America goes bankrupt. Poor fiscal policy destroyed the Soviet Union and it will do the same for the United States. Who buys American these days anyways? Definitely not Americans.
Ever heard of HP, IBM, CAT, GM, world bank, citi bank, wal-mart, xerox,(belongs to fujitsu now), apple, microsoft, ford, american companies pretty much rule the world, if you knew anything about capitalism. American cars outsell jap cars 3 to 1 in america. Soviets were comunists that why they failed not because of consumption dumbass.
None of those companies manufacture in the US. The US isn't Capitalist it's too protectionist in it's economic policy hence the WTO had to threaten embargo's over steel tarrifs designed to keep useless lazy midwestern trash in work (because American retards can't do a decent days work). Only reason American cars outsell Japanese cars in America is import tarrifs not because the cars are better. You must get your news from Fox (Australian owned).
Sorry forgot Ford do manufacture a small percentage of their cars in the U.S. However they are constantly losing market share like GM and the most popular car in the US is built by Toyota. The point remains though US manufacture and the US economy has nothing to keep it going.
PLEASE FORD read this,PLEASE stop making updated cars. Its 2007!! already, there are dream cars made 20- 30 years go more futuristic than the current models. This looks like a shopping trolley, where is the emotion?? Besause its red?? This thing is outdated and you havent even made it yet.
Dont yell at ford yell at the stupid euro faggots making this shit, thats where the focus design originated anyways. Look at all the shven and stephans advertising it, stupid euro homos.

Acually, the style you refer to is known as "kinetic design"...Ford of Europe has been in this design stage for the past 4-5 years

What's the gas mileage. I guess any new car concept based on economical design should have the gas mileage as its focal point. I believe if just four whells on a wooden tomato box that gets 80 miles per gallon and can carry two people in a safe maaner, then you have buyers will take the door down to buy it. That's all.

The grill looks very Aston Martin-like (for those who don't know, Ford owns A-M)
As for the Fiat comments:
Weed2020 - You're an idiot.

Actually, Ford sold Aston Martin a while ago, but I do agree you can see design elements from the DB9 in the verve

Wow.. very nice car.. design is not as important as the reliability.. People now buy cars which they know will last a long time and won't have mechanical/ electrical problems. That's why European/ Domestic vehicles are selling less than the Japanese vehicles that last a long time.

No matter what western car companies (ford, dodge) try to do they will never be able to create quality and durability in car models/designs such as the quick and innovative designs of lets say the japanese and some european car co.'s... they will never catch or keep up for that matter.
munkeehead 4 years ago

I do not like the "face" on this car, it looks mean. yikes!
Damiya 4 years ago
its true, if ya played certin video games ya see the difference, car buff style. but for every happy face theres an equal and oppisite angry face! hahahahha
the happry face is great, i agree. but an agressive face in an agressive world is a good touch. ya'kno what im saying?
Th3Ch3m157 4 years ago
nice interior..ford seems to lean towards the euorpean designers when it comes to their compact mid size cars...the only american looking thing out of their fleet are their trucks (besides the gt40 and mustang)...not a bad thing...but not a good thing when trying to keep that "All-American" image...

MonketyTunkety 4 years ago
The only problem with Ford is it's lack of fuel economy. If Ford just put more resources into fuel economy, more people would buy their cars. Ford concentrates on truck and SUV sales, but the market isn't there. The market is on fuel efficient cars, not gas guzzlers.
poopology101 4 years ago
Ford, are you serious? It looks like a caricature of an Aston with the ass of a Pontiac Aztec. And if I'm not mistaken isn't Ford an American auto manufacturer? Why does every person in their promo video have an accent? Am I supposed to think "Ahh, European car manufacturers are ahead of the curve and listen, these people have accents of European origin...Ford must make a good car now!". Too contrived.
phildawgydawg 4 years ago

We. are. Retarded.
evilbahumut 4 years ago
The fact that there are lot of Americans who realize that a lot of other Americans are retarded is a good thing. Means that not ALL of them are stupid (usually the ones who don't drive a GM car).

Marketing BS, just another bland eurobox.
The2ndofJanuary 4 years ago
Yes it's Marketting BS but a bland Eurobox? As opposed to an inefficient American gas guzzler designed to pander to the US consumer with size issues and no idea how much driving a wasteful car costs them?
chunkylimey 4 years ago
Let's hope it doesn't sell in the America the more retarded American consumers want big inefficient cars the sooner America goes bankrupt. Poor fiscal policy destroyed the Soviet Union and it will do the same for the United States. Who buys American these days anyways? Definitely not Americans.
chunkylimey 4 years ago
Ever heard of HP, IBM, CAT, GM, world bank, citi bank, wal-mart, xerox,(belongs to fujitsu now), apple, microsoft, ford, american companies pretty much rule the world, if you knew anything about capitalism. American cars outsell jap cars 3 to 1 in america. Soviets were comunists that why they failed not because of consumption dumbass.
flatblackstrat 4 years ago
None of those companies manufacture in the US. The US isn't Capitalist it's too protectionist in it's economic policy hence the WTO had to threaten embargo's over steel tarrifs designed to keep useless lazy midwestern trash in work (because American retards can't do a decent days work). Only reason American cars outsell Japanese cars in America is import tarrifs not because the cars are better. You must get your news from Fox (Australian owned).
chunkylimey 4 years ago
Correction: GM manufacture in the US (one mistake) but they are shit.
chunkylimey 4 years ago
Sorry forgot Ford do manufacture a small percentage of their cars in the U.S. However they are constantly losing market share like GM and the most popular car in the US is built by Toyota. The point remains though US manufacture and the US economy has nothing to keep it going.
