If the waves are crashing close to shore then definitely drop the board on the sand, but if you need to get further out to catch the waves try dropping in deep water. For example look at my first 2 runs int he video, my first one I dropped in deep water because the waves were far out (even though there wasnt a wave haha), but the second run I dropped on the sand because the wave was close. For the flying board you just have to lean more forward to distribute some weight from heels to toes
it seems when i try side slipping my board goes flying and when i pump out to a wave i go slower.. and any tips for getting out farther like where on the sand to throw?
honestly to get out further I would try dropping the board in deep water rather than on the sand. Which way does your board fly when you side slip? Like does it sink and throw you off, or do you fall backwards off of it?
i fall backwards and it goes flippy-flippy in front of me....so i should wait for the wave to come up and while it is coming up i throw it into the water coming onto the sand and 1 step on? cuz i've heard that you get farther out when you throw when the wave is coming up instead of already going down the beach.
@xxbmxx1 i dunno man, when I first started trying i was putting a lot of wait on my heels and slowing down all the time. When i started to push with my toes, the board leveled out and i got better. maybe it's just me
dunno if I'm qualified, but I practiced by getting into position standing still on wet sand and pivoting. The motion for me feels a little precarious at first because my feet are further out in front my body than normal. If you can get into position, but you slow down when you try in the water, you have to use foot strength to push the front of the board down. When you try that, if your falling forward face first into the water, you're doing it right, haha.
what is the "one step?"
Is that when you step on the board right after you throw it down?

@Chupanesko yeah, taking only one step after you drop the board
