  • Is there a student that can tell me whether there they do obey the "not having sexual relations" over four years unless you are married?!?!??

another question: are there parties to go to? if not at campus, can you "brake" the honor code?

  • @xpapisx The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes in following the Law of Chastity, which can be defined as follows:

"Chastity is sexual purity. Those who are chaste are morally clean in their thoughts, words, and actions. Chastity means not having any sexual relations before marriage. It also means complete fidelity to husband or wife during marriage." I'm not sure what your reference to "four years" is referring to, so please explain further.

  • @redfearnb I meant the 4 year of college..

  • @xpapisx You can get married whenever you want. My wife was attending BYU before we got married and I was attending school in California. So I came to BYU married, but all students at BYU are expected to refrain from any sexual relations before marriage and complete fidelity during marriage. The same is true for any member of the LDS Church.

About 25% of BYU students are married, which is MUCH higher than other universities. The averages are: undergraduates 22%; graduate students 59%.

  • @xpapisx There are lots of parties at BYU, but anyone who attends BYU must always follow the Honor Code, regardless of their location. Our parties don't include drinking, smoking, or drugs, but I think parties here are infinitely more fun because they're not about those kinds of things.

All schools have some kind of honor code that students follow, but BYU students are expected to be a different kind of student.

  • Wow... i thought mormons denounced science

  • @1yearyounger As a member of the LDS Church, I know we welcome and embrace science and all the truth it brings to our understanding of the world we live in. Learning and truth are some of the most vital tenets of our faith and many members of our church are very prominent scientists. Philo T. Farnsworth is probably the most recognizable LDS scientist of all time, who invented the Cathode Ray television, of course.

  • byu at the top of my options, campus is nice.

  • gosh looks like a freaking earthquake... holy eff. Get a tripod

  • @16BitRecordsOfficial This is two years old now and the camera was not very good at all.

  • @redfearnb yeah im sorry, that was rude of me..I like BYU.

  • thanks for the tour :D

  • crap-tree building? rofl

  • @deniskatashkentskiy Crabtree. It's a person's name.

  • Tuition changes each year, but it's VERY cheap for anyone to attend. It depends how many credits you take and whether you are a graduate student or not, though.

  • i want to attend BYU. Can someone tell me what the tution is for a year?

  • @sbcfootball Its about $3,000 a semester (roughly). I graduated from BYU in 1989, and I paid about $800 per semester. Times have changed but still a massive bargain!! Left BYU with $500 in my pocket and no debt!!!

  • BYU IS AWESOME

  • Did you know that the guy who invented the Television was attending BYU a few months before his world-changing invention was realized? Cool, a?

  • hey can international students get a work on campus

  • @tinntinn32 For sure. On campus jobs are for any student. And since I've had 3 such jobs on campus, I highly recommend them.

  • @tinntinn32 Of course, there's always a broom and a mop available for international students. They also have those carpet cleaning machines

  • Cool video....quick question though...how did you manage to get no one in the video? Im just amazed there was no one around since BYU is usually pretty crowded specially the wilkinson center

  • @superchess101 It was during August. No one is there when there isn't even class. And it was like 7PM, so all the people who work on campus were pretty much gone, too. It's quite peaceful at times.

  • Watch my video "The Real World on BYU Campus"

  • The Tanner building was doubled in size last summer, and BYU Broadcasting is moving up to north campus. DT is now gone, along with the Mangum building. Lots of changes in the last 20 years.

  • Yes, I was very upset when they demolished W-Hall Desert Towers. My room for 4 years was W-402 (single room) facing the bell tower. Tanner building is great. BYU is now a top 5 undergraduate Business school. I graduated with a degree in finance. These are the best years of your life at BYU, enjoy every minute!!

  • I graduated from BYU in December of 1989. Many new buildings.

  • How can you miss JKHB?

  • No time to get every building. There are about 90 of them, after all.
