@tenkins, nope, human rights just means that people are born with rights which cannot be sold. If someone "succeeds" in selling them out, "success" is a rather cynical term, don't you think.
@mcneese416903, capitalism. Without the crisis in 1929, Hitler would had not even the slightest chance of getting power, thus, without capitalism, there would have been no WW2, and no holocaust. WW1 now – the prelude to WW2 – was a direct result of imperialism, which was much about economic exploitation of other countries. And not to forget all the wars about oil.
@mcneese416903, socialism. Right now, in the U.S., about 40 million people are living on food coupons, in capitalist Britain, millions of Irish were condemned to death because the English capitalists thought that the famine was just "market-self-regulation". Capitalism only makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.
I would disagree about Capitalism takes peoples rights away. With Capitalism people have the right to build their own business. I have my own business and I share the same opportunity with others, so that they may have the opportunity to be rich. Many Capitalist do donate money to help the community.
@THE16THPHANTOM Google for "Feldschuh schwer" from the manufacturer Steinkogler. I don't know where you are from, they may be difficult to obtain, however, I can recommend them, very sturdy, and no steel toe to ruin the leather.
Capitalism is not exploitation. Capitalism is all about the creation of wealth and improvement of mankind. In the relatively free markets throughout most of the world the standards of living rises faster than in those times of government intervention, which is what socialism is. The only way to achieve it is to use the power of legitimate coercion held by the government. You describe it as "just," but I would rather be free to live my own life than live with YOUR "justice."
@metzger90 Every capitalist economy is a market economy, but not every market economy is capitalism, hence I do support a market economy, but not capitalism. Just look at your very own home country - highest debts of all countries on Earth despite an almost ridiculous social security (or rather: lack thereof), etc.
Should money be a vehicle to live better or should it be its own purpose???
@ThatGuyFromAustria You obviously don't understand what money is and what the difference between money and capital is. Money is never its own purpose. We don't want paper or coins. We want the goods and services that we can buy with it.
Every economy is capitalist. In every social structure/society/group needs capital to build big projects. The question is how is it distributed. Sacialism by defintion creates an ultra-monopoly of capatal while free market competition and choice restricts power.
One step at a time brother. The people are only just seeing that there is a slight, possibility, of a possibility, of a chance of a possibility, of a chance, of a possibility that there is no Bearded Man in the Sky who Strikes Down the GAYS!

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO its helping me so much with my social studies exam! BEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE ON THIS EVERY OTHER VIDEO HAS SOME WEIRD AMERICAN NOT EXPLAINING IT
socialism sounds very "right" and modern i do believe nothing should be owned privately like in capitalism :)
I love the idea behind it because everyone is equal but then we drive ourselves to be greater which is a good thing but when you become great and then you have children and they get everything for nothing and just become a joke on society well that is wrong. But you can't keep people equal forever because some people have a drive to become great while some people like their life as it is.
"A little more just?" Just what? An English pun, I hope you don't mind, as English is not your native language. It illustrates the underlying error of your thinking. You are using a bunch of vague abstract terms in what is really just (humphf!) an empty jargon. I've given plenty of thought to this, any way you slice it, "socialism" necessarily means the state interferring in the private economic decisions of people. It is always necessarily coercive & IS thus necessarily UN-just.
I'm from America and I can say I'm a little more knowledgeable than your average American but even I think of communism everytime I hear socialism. Whenever I hear news of a "socialist" party winning an election in a European country, I'm like think they're all turning communist.
In 2009 a study was published in The American Journal of American Medicine entitled "Medical Bankruptcy in the United States, 2007: Results of a National Study".
Of the 2314 American respondents, 62% claimed bankruptcy because of medical debt in 2007, something that would have been prevented under socialized medicine.
Ayn Rand would disagree with you. Because she was right.

@tenkins, I am not a communist.
ThatGuyFromAustria 3 weeks ago
@ThatGuyFromAustria Didn't say you were. Socialism, just like all forms of collectivism, is a quest for the unearned.
tenkins 3 weeks ago
@tenkins, correct, human rights are indeed not earned, they are *given.*
P.S.: Collectivist ideas are a subset of socialist ideas, not the other way round.
ThatGuyFromAustria 3 weeks ago
@ThatGuyFromAustria But your definition of human rights is to take from people who succeed and give it to people who fail. How is that just?

@ThatGuyFromAustria, So the capitalists murdered millions of people in Nazi Germany? Do you even know what Nazi means? You are an ignoramus

People that say that humans have more rights under socialism are horribly dumb.

Your arguments are specious. Which system of goverment is responsible for morre genocidal mass murders? Socialism or capitalism?

@ThatGuyFromAustria
you should consider reading 'the law' by Frederick Bastiat. 50pages
or 'Economics in one lesson' by Henry Hazlitt. 170pages
(see amazon reviews for more info)
you won't regret it.
