This is outstanding photography of a glorious island and brought back wonderful memories of 1989. Thank you so much for posting. I still have the photos and I wish I knew whether the statue they were in the process of erecting in Skala harbour was Zeus or Posiedon as sadly no-one I asked could tell me.
@xrhstos1954 Thanks for the information but it was a huge statue, not a bust, and was being erected on the harbour and not on stairs. I have a clear photograph of it. I cannot find an image of Dim Themelis online and when I check those of Zeus and Posiedon it really could be either of them so I'm no wiser.

@argaretbea The bust is on the staircase of Patmos is the Dim Themelis General Commissioner of the Society of Friends in 1821 GREECE
