  • OOOOHHH MYYYY GOOOOOOOOODDDD!!!!!

First time seing this guy! He Is AMAZING!

I will search more of this guy :P

  • but of course. something that is played at 240 bpm and full of sweep arpeggios should look this easy to play.

  • The sweeps and the legatos are a bit muddy and muffled. Great feel though.

  • @MeenToss : Meh, not everyone can be Jason Becker though. Andy is great at what he does. =)

  • @MeenToss I would blame that on his tone more than his playing, though

  • andy THANK YOU FOR THE YESTERDAY CONCERT THANK YOU FOR GROOVE OR DIE

  • The part at 1:10 always makes me cum buckets

    I'm running out of buckets

  • i threw my guitar after watching this..

  • Articulate shred.

  • This song made me quit playing guitar

  • 40 people failed to groove and died.

  • Wish i could get my pick hand to relax like that

  • @boogahed i know what you mean, i wish i could play like this ! :D

  • God damn, can't he do it any slower in the demostrations?!! I'm trying to learn this lol. :(

  • this proves that you dont need a ridiculous rig to have a wonderful tone. just a ts808 (well thats kind of ridiculously expensive) and a vox wah. wonderful

  • @sbboyle In the first place you still need the right fingers to squeeze that tone out... A good rig ist a good start for that tone, but before you get that it's not wrong to learn how to fight for your tone with a less professional setup. Especially because many of that "tone-machines" many pros play are rather unforgiving when it comes to mistakes (A Les Paul w/ PAF and Classic Marshall Setup for example)...

  • @LimboJimbo very true...tone is much more in the player than the rig

  • 40 people died because of the groove =)

  • Comment removed

  • grooved too much. now i die

  • can do. (with 40-50 bps less) .............

  • is he using the green bad monkey distortion?

  • @ulyssessamson No, I think that looks like an Ibanez tubescreamer.

  • i think we finily saw who's got the pick of desteny

  • Hey I´m Andy Timmons & I teach God how to play the guitar

  • @DeutscherInPANIK Stop sayin that in every andy timmons video dude...

  • speed kills...hehe

  • this is an awsome song by timmons

  • that's it I'm getting a VOX wah!

  • @ermonski get a fulltone clyde; much more like the classic vox than the new voxes

  • @jacktheguitarman nah I got my Vox 2 weeks ago. I'm gonna have it modded soon :)

  • about as good as it gets :)

  • Is he using one of those invisible picks?! I hate them because I can't find them

  • @metallicaguz hes using no pick... hes using the force

  • every time i listen to this song i get high!

  • The coolest

  • amazing!!!!

  • superbo

  • Andy Timmons is my first thought when someone mentions the word tone... and versatility... and technique... and feeling... basically, when someone mentions the word "guitar", Andy Timmons is the first thing I can think of.

  • finally his sound remind me eric johnson sound.

2 fabulous guitar player but i prefer andy, coz hes a lil more ...rock,

Eric johson is too calm and too serious for me,but he make the penta sound as nobody else.

  • it's the coolest

  • this man created the best muddy tone ever!! with that rare effect paddle..

  • ye i was thinkin exsakly the same andy

  • I don't know what all you whiny fanboys are bitching about, I hear a pretty goddamn muddy tone. I would describe the parts where he uses his neck pickup instead of his bridge humbucker as "muddy" because they certainly aren't clear as a humbucker. Not only that, but he has some muddy-ass overdrive on. I don't hear a clean acoustic-like chime, nor do I hear some killer scooped-mid death metal distortion, so what else are you going to call it? "Muddy tone" has is not necessarily an insult.

  • @srvgravesdime Not ALL tone is meant to have a clean acoustic-like chime. Go post a vid of you playing this and lets see YOUR tone. I'm not a fanboy but i honestly don't see anything wrong with his tone

  • @bozone1234 I just finished posting that "muddy tone" was not an insult. Read my post again you bozonehead, I never once criticized Andy's tone. I'm criticizing the idiots freaking out over the description because they think "muddy tone" is some sort of insult or something. I am saying that Andy has a "muddy tone", but that his muddy tone is just AWESOME. I never once said there was anything wrong with his tone, so learn to read jackass.

  • @srvgravesdime His neck pickup is humbucker its just double railed

  • @srvgravesdime I guess maybe 'crunchy' or 'distorted' would've been a more preferred term. Whatever, po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Either way, he's awesome.

  • Yngwie who?? Who needs Malmsteen when you have Timmons?

  • @vrscrog Amen brother...

  • malmsteen and timmons are two different category of playing both of them are awesome...

  • Ah..did i just have an eargasm?

  • uhoh.. i think....... yep i just came

  • how we can play like this guy...?

  • @jagung5 It's not like i take this guitar over there, play for few hours and you can freaking rule

My guitar teacher told me, that he took this song and he is going to learn it and he expects that it will take months

  • @ViRPo months? he must suck man, if you spend 1 day trying to learn it if you know whatcha doin ull get quarter of it done maybe?

  • @k1koth3gre4t I don't know who you are or how long do you play but look at his speed first at his right hand's technique and try to play that song on your own

Months to play it in same tempo without mistakes (of course 100% is not always possible)

  • @k1koth3gre4t ViRPo is right. playing it is one thing. playing it comfortably and knowing the song inside and out is another. you have to understand the rhythm to the song and the scales and all of the patterns. you can learn the notes in a few days, but it will take months to know every part of this masterpiece

  • The part at 1:10 with the double stops makes me cum internally and ejaculate rainbows

  • Tapping his foot as if its a metronome. very effective.

  • just love the way he gets into it!

  • What kind of harmonic is the 0:37???

  • @Kuauer that's a tap harmonic. when u play a note tap the string 12 frets higher than the one thats being played. hope this helps.

  • @Kuauer Its an octave, you have to tap it

  • @Kuauer natural harmonic

  • 0:56 - 1:42

    *0*!!

  • @supermiredo What sweep picking? He's hard picking you JACK WAGON!! Maybe in mambee pambee land sweep picking is the thing..... you know what makes me sad?? YOOUUUU!!!!!

  • @supermiredo Some alternate picking your pathetic,,, sweeps??? Where?

  • @guitargeant

at the beginning. I also don't think it's perfectly executed, maybe because it's really hard as hell lol. nevertheless the video is great and andy is definately one of the gratest for me and perhaps the best one on improvising.

    stay cool

  • @cesar6luis I think it's cuz hes using the neck pickup he's still not sweep picking watch closer, it's alternate picking I use the same style lol

  • @guitargeant 0:23 that´s sweep picking. actually 2 little sweeps

  • good song but bad sound.

  • SICK

  • It's not Yngwie, It's paul

  • Nice work!

  • THAT is one respectable guy!

  • Groove - Or - Die = GOD :)

  • @tomaselvis listen to electric gypsy and u'll change idea about this guitarman

  • Good guitarist but way too fast song. Totally uninteresting melody.

Almost as bad as Batio. I sometimes look at Batio just to laugh.

    Absolutely NO taste, just speed.

    I'd go with Gilmour...

  • @tomaselvis ....

  • @tomaselvis listen to this than....v=oRewopc1MwA&feature=related

  • @sk8naveia

He is fast like a god, but he's lacking taste.

    Lets say a potential god...

  • Muddy tone?... i just hear perfection...

  • you know, when you compare it to the Album version, you pick up some slight lack of treble. bu thats all. i dont hear any muddiness either.

  • @ShadowLancer128 indeed... and people dont seem to know andys tone is one of the most famous and wanted by a lot of guitar players around the world... thats why we call him " the tone king"...

  • @Timmonsec

    00:27 = out of key/pitch

    00:32 = sloppcakes

But that being said, i LOOOOVE Andy Timmons playing.. his tone and feel is just superb, but i wouldnt call it perfection. ;P

  • @notuern wtf are you talking about?

  • @notuern 27 seconds in is a key change.

  • @sixstainless

    *sigh*

Yes, but the bend didn't hit one of the 12 notes that are present in our western musical scale.

  • @notuern Sure. But who says you HAVE to be in key, or stay in the same one? And plus, even fantastic players like Timmons make mistakes. Haha. I know I make them all the time.

  • @sixstainless

Andy Timmons does for one.. dont get me wrong, i love this clip.. i was just responding to calling it "perfection" since its far from perfect.

And yeah, no kidding.. i make them all the time as well. ;)

  • @Timmonsec The tone is muddy compared to the that was then this is now recording. It is a hard song I don't think he practices it very much anymore.

  • @chillmetal What?!! Trying to make yourself feel better by criticizing, I guess. What have YOU done to inspire guitarist's around the world?

  • @jamlsn wtf is your problem? He doesn't practice that song anymore and I am pretty sure he is sick of playing it. I have met him several times and he is my favorite guitarist of all time. stfu seriousily.

  • This song made me buy a guitar

  • @Gabbahzor now u just have to wait years before playing this ^^,gl

  • @Gabbahzor this song made me burn mine...

  • @Gabbahzor good luck XD

  • Awesome...

  • Notice the first letters of of the song spell GOD?

  • Speed Kills!

  • The intro makes me remember of Fly to the rainbow, by Scorpions.

  • Better then Vai :P

  • I find it really impressive he can play this way, but to be honest this fast style doesn't appeal to me

  • @haukka1987 listen to electric gypsy or cry for you to hear is soulful playing

  • @haukka1987 personally I thought he was making fun of Yngwie at first;

Then I went onto his website and found out the hard way it was inspired by polka music.

  • omfg! the best! el mejor ! :O

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Look at that evil glamorous smile at 2:09!!! He's a devil in disguise! I would go religious for this guy! :D:D:D

  • phenomeno!great song great feeling great touch .... one of the best!!! yep he is so underrated but who's care????

  • How he makes the natural harmonics sound like that? He hits the string only?

  • @GABOSTONES Tapped harmonics: You tap a fret an octave above the one you`re fretting (at the same string ofc). You will of course hear better the harder to tap..to a certain degree..but the most important is to hit precise and clean.

  • @Skeimag Thanks, i try doing harmonics one octave above, sounds closer.. see my first video. But with tap it's more fast!

  • Skeimag Thanks, i try doing harmonics one octave above, sounds closer.. see my first video. But with tap it's more fast!

  • holy crap...this song is amazing... I bet Kirk hammet is pissed of due the beautiful wah part...

  • The vid you're referring to is of course played cleaner, but Andy isn't known for his surgical precision as a Gilbert, but for using lotsa secondary noises as in everything there is including what people call sloppy ;>

  • Alex, it's not sloppy as in bad skills - it's on purpose - AT is one of those whose phrasing varies not only through techniques and tone but also style - and this sloppy playing is his loose style.

  • Best Tap Harmonics ever.

  • wish i could play this sloppy!!!

  • amazing!:)

  • waouuuuu !!

  • I love how his tons knobs move like every 5 seconds hes always changing it up

  • I can`t judge him, but he is sloppy in here :\

Write Andy Timmons Style in google and second link will be it, Muris played it better..

  • i think i died

  • Amazing

  • very sloppy, he obviously was having an off day. On the record its not only flawlessly clean, but he has way better tone -- i think he was just using this setup on the bridge p-up instead. Obviously if you're already that sloppy on the neck, the bridge will sound like a mess, lol...

  • @BrianGuitarShred Where is your ego's off button?

  • @RamiroFeichu what is your problem now? I never said I could outplay him. I said he was clearly having an off day.

This isn't technique or style changing...he's playing sloppy. That's all it is. If he could've made it clean he would've, even the best have off days

  • @BrianGuitarShred I know what you meant, but you overacted

  • @BrianGuitarShred A lot of it is the guitar. I own both myself and can attest that the 100 and 300 are two totally different guitars tonally.

  • Comment removed

  • super sloppy lol i see people cover this better than he can play it

  • @elementskater539 you obviously cant hear it properly then.

There is a lot of delay which make fast playing sound sloppy.

  • @Bill100662 i guess i cant hahaha

  • super sloppy lol

  • This song makes me tingle

  • This guy is so fucking amazing. But why is he so underground? It's sad. His music should be played by radio stations worldwide. Timmons is such an underrated guitarist. Do people not know good music when they hear it anymore? Non appreciative bitches!! Just listen to this shit!!

I have nearly every one of his albums but I had to order them off the net because I never have been able to find them in music stores. It's bullshit :-(

  • @CPUMaster500 your spot on mate, this guy should be massive

  • How does he do that cool thing at :38? xD

  • @Zephor He's using natural harmonics. Its the same concept as playing the harmonics on the twelfth fret. He is fretting a note on the lower twelve frets, and lightly touching the string above the fret exactly 12 frets from the note he is fingering (ie If he is fretting the 3rd fret on the G string, he could create harmonics by touching the G string above the 15th fret). Easy trick but cool none the less

  • Comment removed

  • @Zephor Tap harmonics :P

  • I love Andy, but in this vid he seems to have a bad day or is not really warmed up. Worst performance i´ve seen from him, but he´s still god and maybe the best rock guitar player in the world.

  • @ML120374

Definately a little sloppy, not his best work. One thing I love about Andy is that his playing by nature is a tad sloppy, at least compared to many other shredders. It's just part of his texas blues/rock roots (yes i know he's not native texan). He's got about as much of a SRV right hand technique as you can have and still pull off technical stuff like this. Among my favorite "feels" of prog rock guitar.

  • @BigAndouille his right hand plays exactly like kiko loureiro

  • @BigAndouille yeah i like how he's a shredder but he seems to dig in a lot more than the others

  • @BigAndouille a little sloppy,jesus

  • Oh no, Andy just made fun of Yngwie, here we go... flamers unite!

  • @ShadowLancer128 fun or tribute.

  • @MUDSHARK111 who knows. they way I saw it atm, it seemed like he was making fun of him, but you've made a great observation; this could very well be an Yngwie Malmsteen Tribute from Andy, in which case, I'd still listen to Andy's music, just not this song, and at that, I'd no longer be taking Andy's advice.

  • regardless of whether its taking the piss or displaying what can be achieved in the hands of a a man who knows moderation and subtlety .i dont think it should be ignored .

  • @MUDSHARK111 Well, as far as I'm concerned, I want nothing to do with MAB, or Guthrie Govan, or Malmsteen. Thats just my opinion.

  • @ShadowLancer128 that is your choice .i try to keep an open mind .i had dug my heels in in my youth only to find i was not as well rounded a player as i had wanted to be .but hay there's a world of players to inspire you with out going near those you dont like so best of luck with what every you want.

  • @MUDSHARK111 Yeah, I'll listen to everyone BUT those guys. so thanks man.

  • @ShadowLancer128 woah you can't not listen to guthrie! :O hes amazing, in both melody and technical ability. i agree with MAB and malmsteen though hehe, i tend to stay away from them to :P

  • Incredible! Wow...such talent and beautiful tone. I don't play well but know quality when I hear it and see it. Thanks for the vid!! This song is my inspiration of the night!

  • definately one of the best of the world

  • today I will see him in Catanzaro!

  • wat guitar is Andy using here ?

The guitar sounds a bit similar as the one used by Jason Becker ..

  • Its his signature model. Ibanez At-300 I think

  • It's so stubid, why is Eric Johnson more popular then Andy, just becuse Cliffs of dover is on guitar hero.

Andy is a much better guitarist. And so underated. I hate it!

  • i like andy more, but i do think eric johnson is a better guitarist

you should really watch some more eric j videos, you might change your mind

  • Why? It just his opinion. I think both are amazing, just in different styles.

  • Why? it just his opinion. I think both are amazing, just in different styles.

  • true, cliffs of dover is an overrated eric johnson song, listen to desert rose

  • Comment removed

  • Smokin' tune. I find it kinda funny though that almost anytime his right hand has a spare moment hes grabbing the volume knob to make sure its all the way up. I never liked volume knobs that close to the bridge pickup for that reason, its easy to knock em'.

  • This is killer so melodic and an awesome tone.

  • which guitar is that?
