I really like 70's and 80's funk. The bass player is grooving and slapping here and there. He's not overplaying and his slaps are tasteful not clickety clackety all over the place. Todays bass player needs to get more tasteful with their slaps. We (myself included) are overplaying and over slapping. Bring the groove back to bass playing.

Even in 1982, Deodato is pure 70'S!! It's a kind of smooth Disco/Jazz. It's wonderful and it's just not around anymore -- sad. Those were the best times for music. Long live the Disco era!

Deadato is a very talented songwriter and producer. He brought Kool and the Gang back with the production of Ladies Night album. If you like this song then check him out around this time period of 1981. He had two albums like this song. He is very versitle and is really known for the classic, space odyssey 2001.

Aaaah, simply the best. The groove, that bass line, that funky guitar riff, those synths, those singers, just everything about it! 'Happy hour' the LP this comes from is damn good too but this is the highlight! Nice one Deodato!
